Nice gentle return to work for me. I had my run along the river and through the country park (which I do every day), cappuccino, breakfast, and no emails to read as its company policy now not to send emails to people on holiday (and they're deleted when OOO is set).

Nice easy break back in ;).

Struggled to get to sleep last night, but then slept through until the alarm.

Not an easy return to work. Usually have everything done by lunch, but I'd estimate to still have another days work ahead of me ignoring what comes in tomorrow. Everyone else is ignoring phones or getting stressed and taking out on others, but there isn't really anything new there. At least the day goes quicker like this and I'll soon be back in bed.

Started back today and tbh it has dragged in so far. Couldn't wait to get back though as it was getting a bit boring sitting at home.

Not wishing to derail the thread but this is a brilliant idea.

However I can imagine many positions in my company (and more specifically, bigger corps I've worked for in the past) who just couldn't achieve this. My last manager would come back to 200+ e-mails after a week off...

Was dreading coming back today as I've been having lots of late nights but don't feel I've had much time off.

Was off from the 24th and spent a few days in Oban for Christmas which was nice. Since then I got another cold, my mrs got a cold, lay under my car a bit too much and spent too much money!

Thought I'd cycle in today as my brakes have a leak on the car but woke up late as I didn't sleep until 4.30am. Nailed it!

Got two weeks left in my current job, then two weeks off before starting on the 1st Feb in my new role.

So right now, I couldn't really give a ****. :p :D

I'm glad to be back working - but then I like my job and I work from home, collected 4 computers this morning and now working on them all this afternoon.

I've had 8 weeks off in the last two months, three weeks sick with horrendous Vertigo, four weeks paternity leave and one weeks holiday.

I'm back to work for 3 weeks and then another four to six weeks off after having an operation! In total I've worked o days in the last 12 weeks!

I hate being back to work

Not far off being the end of the first day, how has everyone got on?

For the first time in years I slept soundly, not anxious or dreading going back to work which was a fantastic feeling.

Had some good results today with some customer leads I have been working on for the last month get back to me with some positive feedback so fingers crossed these will come off in the next few weeks.

Being the first day back however I always feel that any cold calling or chasing business is pointless so it has been a bit of a catch up day.

My 30th on Thursday so going away to Centre Parcs for a long weekend, back to work next Tuesday so 2 short weeks to look forward to so not all bad!

/shrug there's been a reasonable amount of research, and at significantly larger companys' than mine, Daimler is the largest profile one that I know of (circa 100,000 employees), and it hasn't affected their productivity.

People going on holidays actually get holidays, and don't have the worry/stress of coming back to a full inbox.

Returned back to work on the 29th of December, had been off since the 14th.

Was dreading this morning since Monday mornings are the worst for IT problems but it has not been half as bad as I had expected.
