Well I didn't see that coming...
Sgavan very kindly gave me an invite but because I ordered 2 phones (one for Brett 249) I need 2 invites :(

I was hoping they'd ship one of them out on the invite and the other to stay on preorder...

So now I have 24 hours to find another invite or else this one gets wasted :(

Oh that seems totally fair, I mean nothing is better than something right?

I've got to be honest, it's things like this and their general approach to customer service that's really putting me off keeping this device.

Well if you don't get another invite in 24 hours and don't plan on buying just one.
Make sure to give someone else the chance to use the invite instead of letting it waste :)

Yeah me too. The whole invite thing is novel but I was very nearly bored of it... I just really hope I can get on with it, sick of Apple and their nazi ****... I want to be liberated :)

Yeah right, it's a marketing ploy designed to whip up a frenzy and to be fair it's worked. It has however exposed how inefficient their supply chain process is, and how flawed it is solely using Paypal as their payment processor.

Regards Apple - I'm coming from a 5S too. My reasoning is somewhat bittersweet. I was pro-Apple/OSX massively, but changes within Apple, quality drops and their consistantly arrogant approach to their customers is pushed me away.

If the OPO sucks, I'll probably hock it and get a Nexus 5. At least the aforementioned invite system generated frenzy means the value will hold. :)

If you've been desperately waiting for an invite why not just buy one on eBay USA? I just got one for a tenner and it was delivered instantly. Offset the cost by choosing the standard (quicker?) delivery, or just sell your own invite when you get it...simples. I understand if you don't want to do it out of principle; its a pretty stupid thing to have to do and I can't help but think that all that eBay invite trade should really be part of oneplus' profit margin.

Mine arrived yesterday, spent most of last night moving everything across from the 5S and getting it set up.

Initial impressions:

- It's not as massive as I feared it was going to be, it's a good 2-3mm slimmer than the 5S so doesn't feel like it's taking up too much space in the pocket. Unless you're wearing your sister's jeans, which thankfully, I don't.

- It's pokey, like hella pokey. Quad core and 3GB of RAM definitely being put to good use.

- Screen is nice and vibrant, touch works well and the keyboard is a joy to type on. Still need to reprogram my thumbs/brain after several years of iOS usage to get the speed/accuracy up but it's a fairly painless switch.

- 64gb of storage space is a revolution for me coming from several years of 16gb. I've got 114 albums, 2GB of pictures and a slew of apps and still got ~40gb to play with.

- The charger cable is ridiculously short, would recommend buying an aftermarket cable. I've bought a couple of these, and a Blackberry Playbook charger as it's got a higher ampage output to facilitate faster charging.

- Camera is a bit meh so far, the slow refresh on the screen makes it feel like you're using a Nokia 7650. Picture quality is OK, but tbh expected a bit more. Low light performance is pretty dire. The 5S definitely wins in this area.

- I've had a software update to 38R but nothing else since, but presume this'll be along soon enough. Happy enough with it as it is, but always good to have new software.

- The inclusion of a nano SIM tray is a nice touch, saved me having to get a new SIM card and get it transferred over.

- Arrived at work to find my signal/data speed fluctuating wildly between H, H+ and LTE (on 3). I hope this doesn't have an adverse affect on battery life...

Generally pleased with the device though, feels like a good upgrade to the 5S. I know people will bang on about Apple tax (they're a premium product with a mature and robust ecosystem and in my opinion much nicer build quality so feel that's moot) but it's amazing to see a phone that beats the iPhone 6+'s feature set for under half the price. Proof will be in the usage though, battery, signal and stability. Fight!
