ONM - MarioKart Wii Review

There seems to be quite a few online players more intent on causing maximum grief to others. They seem to have no intention of winning the race, just wrecking other peoples. (parking on the track, driving the wrong way etc.) Are others finding the same?

I didn't until I was playing with a mate last night. A couple of people were doing it. I assumed if you went the wrong way for a period of time it would either kick you out or put you back on the track the right way?!

That's the case with every online racing game isn't it?

It maybe. TBH, I don`t play online much. Most of my gaming is on PC, and I have never really bothered with online.

MK makes it easy though, and I am really enjoying it, and its something else me and the missus can do together. We both threw our teddies out of the cot during various races last night, with the air turning very blue. Some of the language she comes out with whilst playing is astonishing. I never knew she had it in her. There is no loyalty either. She thinks nothing of making my life hell on the track, purposely targeting my kart.

A proper northern bird :D

Bwahahaha sounds just like us. Me desperately trying to beat johnny foreigner & her launching weapons into me like there is no tomorrow :D
And the shouting and swearing...... If we ever spoke to the neighbours I'm sure they would complain.
I havent noticed others trying to ruin a game yet but guess its inevitable :(

Mario Kart has raced past Gran Turismo 5: Prologue to take the number one spot in the UK all-formats chart. Brrroom.

It's enjoyed the biggest launch of any Nintendo-published title, according to shop watchers Chart-Track, selling more copies than Mario and Sonic, Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers, Mario Party 8 and Super Paper Mario combined. For those who really want to know, Wii games featuring Mario account for 21.2 per cent of all software sold for the console. FACT.

Yep, we've been through all this already in the thread though, so did you want to add anything?

Yeah I thought your statement was a bit 'out there' in relevance and seemed to fit your general demeanour of not really being 'all there' with your forum posts.

My point was that Mario Kart is very very basic, and is as complicated as your generic kiddie game from a cereal packet, making no reference to GTA or moving genre. It is basic, as it's Nintendo, they don’t 'do' complicated or challenging with Mario games.

I'll ignore your pathetic little insult and address your post:

How is GTA more complex than Mario Kart and why would a non 8 year old prefer GTA to Mario Kart?

Have you got 120 stars on Mario Galaxy? ;)

I, myself thought that was pretty challenging.

Josh

If you want to look at a specific thing like getting 100% then yes you could say it's challenging but looking at it on the other shoe of just playing the game it is not.

So how is GTA more complex out of the box?

Furthermore, it's probably a good thing if a game is simple in essence, but challenging in it's execution.

Also, never mind 120 stars on Mario Galaxy... Have you finished SMB3? That gets pretty damn hard.

Well I have been playing this today and I am pretty annoyed with it to be honest, seems to be a great lack of skill required to win this game.

The way I see it is as though it is a slot machine, it makes you think that you are somehow playing by skill when in actuality its a game of chance.
