So would i, i've emailed OU and my tutor, my tutor did say it was a higher level, but i'm not sure it would be that difficult (not trying to sound smug), but maths is normally ok once you get the hang of it. I've only been emailing, as i've not had chance to ring them.

Looking at the website it’s basically A/AS level maths. Did you study basic calculus in your HNC? Did you do A-levels?

I did some maths on my ONC. I'll dig out the certificate when I get home from work. I've been working through the 'are you ready'for this maths they say I need and it's pretty basic stuff. I think matrices are the only thing I've not don't, I remember doing calculus and complex numbers (although whether that was at ONC or HNC level I'm not sure, I did do it quite a few years ago:D).

Probs a good time to do them... maybe you can get a head start of the material now? Get some equivalent text books for cheap off amazon etc..

So as not create a new thread, i'll post in this one.

I'm looking at doing a biology bsc with open university starting this year, with the look at specialising further down possibly going into research or pharmaceuticals.

Anyone got experience with biology or sciences based degrees with the OU, more specifically anyone who has gone on to do lab work after, how easy was it to get actual experience during/after the degree. Was it just a case of attending residential weeks, i know that some bricks and mortar universities offer summer programs with regards to lab assistants for work on projects to help with research experience but i don't really know how these work and whether you have to be a student at said university or just working toward a degree in an appropriate subject. Just looking to weigh my options going forward any advice/input is appreciated.
