Opera 9.50 released

New skin is great if you change it to "windows native" then you lose the horrid black stuff :)

Only gets 83% in Acid3? I thought they'd got to 100 already?

They had, and still have on other builds, but for compatibilities sake (what most people using a browser want) over passing what is essentially just a test of nothing, they've regressed.

Mmm yes, it is nice. I have once again switched back to it from firefox.
The new skin is yuck however, first thing I did was install the Ubuntu Human skin. Lovely.

I do find it frustrating that to open a background tab in firefox, you hold control, but when you want to do it in opera you have to hold shift and control!! GRRRR!

I don't disagree that it's a contrived, mostly pointless, test - but Opera were the ones crowing that they had got to 100% so unless the changes were too late to go into 9.5 and are waiting for v.next, I'm kinda unimpressed. Opera like trumpeting that they are the big ones for web standards after all...

From what I've seen, the Acid3's more about adding features than breaking existing ones. Certainly, the 7 points mozilla-central has gained over Fx3 hasn't broken anything that's tested.

Edit: Hm, there's something that loosely resembles the AwesomeBar too.
