Operation Fresh Toast H440 Watercooled

*testing multiquote*

Cheers for the comments. I aimed for a tidy build to please Rofl's eyes, but I am glad everyone else appreciates it as much.

I have just realised that very few people will know who rofls is, I'll keep it a secret.;)

EDIT: Multiquote did not work. I have no idea what I am doing.

:D:D:D

Click on multi + for each post you want to quote then click quote on the last one....hey presto

I mentioned my plans for the LEDs to my dad who immediately got the soldering iron out. So now everything is wired to the button on the back which uses a simple 6 pin switch to manage the 2 circuits. I'll get some pics of the very professional soldering/insulating we did.

Love the build, particularly the lighting. Sets it off very well.

Tbh mate, cards are only hitting 65 and 53 in bf4, and running very quietly. Gotta love the windforce cooler.

Those are pretty damn good temps. You do benefit from having a great case for airflow whereas I prefer my ovens closed style cases.

I think I have figured it out. I managed to press the multi + on a bunch of posts but had no idea how to get them into the reply box.

You're getting the hang of it.

I have mastered the multiquote!

Looks great dude - big fan of white LED's - they make components really stand out, especially the mobo

I really like using them to illuminate components. I really hate the look of exposed LEDs.

i still love the white coolant look

White coolant and clear tubing was a lot more than white tubing and clear coolant but does look a lot better.

New motherboard has been dispatched and will be here tomorrow!

However, overclocking my CPU on this old cruddy board has been a complete PITA with every overclock I have tried failing. So it is possible that my CPU has degraded to a point beyond no return and may need upgrading.

Would a 3570K be a better choice than another 2500K? I would like the extra PCI bandwidth and instructions per clock (not sure if that is the right word for it) but am worried about lower OC potential and higher temps.

If only you had access to the MM there are some 2500k's for sale......

2500k is still a good cpu to have and would tide you over until Skylake.

A pair of sharkoon 30cm white cold cathodes that I got 2 years ago for about £7 from the rainforest.

I also broke the switch that controls the lighting for the logo and back of the case so replaced it with an identical switch except it had 6 pins allowing it to control 2 circuits at once. So they are now both wired to the same switch and it all works great.

659 posts to go. I assume they are only going to get cheaper over time so can probably wait. But if a really nice clocking one was to appear I sure wouldn't mind if it ended up on my door matt in exchange for a few mouseclicks on paypal's website.

I could keep an eye out. Matt will be selling his 2700k if he hasn't already and your're willing to take a chance. ;)
