Opinions on HP ProLiant ML115 G5

I've got 8gb of OCZ nonECC running fine in my ML110

Has anyone seen the prices of these now £300+

I don't see the advantage of EEC anymore really
standard ram seems good enough?

Thats a very interesting and potentially painful statement, i certainly wouldn't want to have to recover a server specially not one running directory/database services because of a corruption caused by a memory error which ive seen many times before.

The consumer market is a different story, performance tends to out weigh resilience.

only database I can see myself running is AD/exchange. and tbh it's hard enough getting the boss to agree to getting a server (still won't) without adding cost.

just an offer
was crasy good to start with as they had the card with them too (remote access to everything thingy)

I'd guess well see the same happen price wise, either when the model get replaced or the end of quarter/half/year comes round

interesting that there is a site selling SBS2008 and CALs atm
prices are 452.97 + Vat for standard server (+5 user cals) and 175 + VAT for 5 user cals
very interesting

I have seen some comments where it runs the fans all the time, unlike Dells are temp controlled

Just to add, this does happen and its either you dont' have the latest product support pack or it can be that you have a second psu installed but no power into it

you can buy quadcore g5 ml115 id say its not worth the time when you could buy the new server for the same price and less hassle of a g1.
