Opinions on HP ProLiant ML115 G5

Finally got an Ml115g5 today £161.51 delivered

now running Vista x64 ultimate and 8gb of kingston ram, and a pcie hd2600 pro all in all very happy.

It was the 470065-018 model (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/e...1-241434-3328424-3328424-3683705-3919424.html), not as good as the earlier ones spec wise but no complaints here...

I can't get it online yet, need a driver for the Embedded NC105i PCI -Express Gigabit Server Adapter suitable for vista 64, any suggestions? thanks.

found the driver there

...My Ml115g5 arrived today. Now has WHS installed. Could just do with some newer/larger drives in next :)

Seem to have all gone now!!

mine arrived, along with 3 x 500gigashizzlejobbies (under 100 quid all in!) for RAID 5 and 4GB PC6400. up and fitted together, need to sort out ESXi tomorrow! hopefully have WHS and Ubuntu Server up and running for playing about with.

oh and it took me ages to find where the HP hard drive screws were located :o

Guys, has anyone tried ESX\ESXi Update 4 on this? Does it work without the USB stick workaround?

If not, how do i install upgrade to update 4 when using the usb workaround.

Been told prices are going back up, If you want one / some be quick... there are good deals still to be found.

£156.92 inc vat and delivery at the moment, been trying to decide wether or not to snag one for that price :p

Not at all mate, I know of at least 3 places with stock the dearest being £175 delivered and cheapest £157 delivered ;)

...They'd gone from the place where I bought mine. Although I paid 199.98.

Just checked and they now have them back in stock,154 of them, for 229.99 :D

I was wondering if someone could help me? I am running through the process to create a ESXi usb boot pen for my new machine and when I am going through the DD for windows bit my machine is not identifying the usb pen (I think maybe since I am running vista) so can anyone tell me can you simply copy the image put onto a previous boot pen and if so could someone maybe post a link to the usb pen image I need? If not then I will hopefully be able to get access to an XP machine to do it but it will be next week.

If there is somewhere else I would be better posting this then please let me know and I will do that.

Thanks in advance

I had problems using DD, in the end found it was a lot easier using winimage. Just click the disk menu, and then restore image to disk. A lot less hassle than using DD.
