Opinions on HP ProLiant ML115 G5

What are people seeing the prices on the ML115 at the moment? I can see it for £230 in stock, but don't know if it's worth holding out for cheaper?

Seen it for £209 but no stock until the 30th. Varoius prices around between £209 and £270. Can't see anyone with it in stock. Can you email my trust with where you have seen it in stock, as available is more important to me than price at the moment!

Hi Guys

I have just got an ML115 and started palying with server 2008, I want to expand with as much sotage as possible. The stated maximum is 3TB for these has anyone succesfully put more in? As 1TB drvie are cheap now I wanted to use 4TB in raid 5. Woudl this box handle it?

Thanks

ML115 with 1GB RAM is about on the web for £206 from a fairly reputable retailer, free delivery as well. Not in stock, but it says 5-7 days. Might buy :)

Got mine for £189+VAT including delivery. Was sent yesterday and I should get it today.

Although I love my ML115, Im going to have to bite the bullet and purchase 8GB of ram. With 4 VMs running together in my ESX4i lab environment its enough on the slow side to make the purchase necessary. Id expect to be paying in the region of £150-£150 for 8GB of ram.

What do you have at the moment?

I bought 3 x 2Gb of Crucial non-ECC RAM from Ocuk for £87. I already had 2Gb of Transcend value RAM from OcUK and it all works fine. No need to pay over the odds unless you need ECC.

So has anyone got the 16x slot running at 16x?
My gaming laptop has just died and I'm considering getiing a gfx card and dual booting esx and W7.

What are the best drivers to use on an ML115 G5 for Windows XP, can I just install the Windows Server 2003 drivers, and they'll work fine - or do I need to search for the XP drivers?

Got XP installed and everything seems to be working - checked a HDTune benchmark - does this look OK or do I need to be fiddling with some settings, seems a little slow to me? System contains just a single 160gb drive.

Hi guys, I wonder is someone can help out a non-techie?

I've had the ML115 for over a year now and I'm still very happy with it, but I think it's due a Xmas upgrade! I'm looking to upgrade the memory and disks.
I'm looking to upgrade the memory to 4Gb with the possibility of upgrading it again later. I'm currently running Fedora on the box, so I can do a 2nd upgrade of the same size. However, the Fedora gives me the problem! - on the many previous machines that I've upgraded the memory on, I was running Windows, so I could use the scanner on the Crucial site, secure in the knowledge that it would be right or I'd get my money back. Using Fedora, I don't have that safety net, and I find I haven't a clue what memory to get! I've seen several recommendations in this thread, like the one below, but they all seem to be out of stock! To further confuse me, when I look the ML115 up on Crucial, the memory listed below isn't offered as being compatible! Can someone recommend memory that would be suitable, preferably, but not necessarily Crucial?
As far as the disks are concerned, I'm looking for guidance as to the maximum individual drive size and the maximum total storage that the ML115 will accept. I'd like to put in 2x 2Tb drives, again with the option to double this later. Anyone have any experience of drives that performed well or are to be avoided?
