I have a follow up question!

I used to know the answer to this but seem to have somehow forgotten!

When i have marines in dropships, I would like to be able to drop them on at a time in a line while the dropship is still moving. I thought it was SHIFT-D and click on the dropship but that doesnt seem to work. Can someone refresh my memory?. Also, if i have 2 dropships and want each dropship to drop one marine is this possible?

It's just D and click on a dropship (while moving), as for dropping single units you have to select *a* dropship and click the unit you want to drop.

The number of times i've messed up a strafing drop over enemy tanks because of my unstable hands in tense moments, a lot of them get shot down due to me failing to unload them and not noticing :(

If you lose to a 6 pool it's completely your own fault. You obviously didn't scout. The fact that you are patronising people who cheese even though you can't defend it is a bit embarrassing. Who's the worse player really?

It's you by the way.

Not true,

I always scout when i place my 9/10 pylon.

I have found even tho I'm getting my timings perfect - 12 gate, 16 core. I'm still slightly too late, with the units to stop them even killing my core/gateway.

It's at this point that I'd suggest posting a replay or two.

Aside: To be totally honest, you shouldnt be able to afford a 12 gateway and certainly not a 16 core if you're pylon scouting. I scout after a 13 gate and get my core started at about 18 supply. Even with that build order in mind it's possible to hold a 6 pool so long as it's scouted. On a huge map you don't necessarily have to scout immediately, as by the time the lings get there you may already have a zealot out.

As P im finding it more common to put a pylon at 9 then my first gateway at around 14 and chrono nexus x2 (i believe a lot of the pros are doing this now aswell) , i find putting a gateway any earlier will prevent you from building constant probes which is obviously not good.

given that 4gating is useless now and the shift in normal unit production there really isnt any need to mega chrono your core.

if its z i will then chrono out a zealot after core, anything else and i miss the zealot completely and chrono out a stalker then sentry whilst chrono core as much as poss.

I have found personally:

9 pylon
prob to 10.
Chrono out 2 probes
12 Gateway
More probes - chrono'd
16/17 pylon
18 Core.

And I never lack minerals.

How come 4 gate is useless? I still seem to find that a fair number of toss go 4 gate against me. Its still **** and unless scouted means the death of terran.

Quick question.

Whenever i watch casts, the pros are very good at deploying their siege tanks so enemy tanks are literally at the edge of their range, i was wondering whether this is simply a skill that they have devloped from lots of playing or whether there is a setting that will show what the range of the tank will be before it deploys?

You can click on the enemy's tanks and see their range :)Then,if you have air superiority or scans, siege your tanks at the edge of the circle and they will shoot without being shot back, due to the lack of vision from the opponent.

Oh and 4gate is not useless,it's still being used even in Grandmaster.

Love when cheese fails but season 3 started about a month ago. Think they are on episode 4 now :P

Yeah, I'd just forgotten about it XD Just figured I'd stick it down for people who hadn't realised like me :p

Edit: And I'm thinking I probably belong in bronze afterall, I can't get an army up fast enough. I know I should, and try, but get killed by proxy pylons and lots of marines/marauders.

cheese was evident in BW, but was heavily punished...if your cheese went bad you lost that was the price you paid, which makes sense. The same cant be said about sc2.

Cheese is just a part of the game, its just like showboating in a game of football. Its embarassing for you to let your opponant do it too you. Scouting will prevnt cheese. Its been there since early SC.. through BW and will and always be in the game...

6 pool is a pretty weak cheese compared to anything that terran or protoss can do to a zerg.
Also it is pretty easy to defend, eaither compleat your wall off when you scout it or just kill the lings with your workers. You will now win due to an economic advantage.

I'd agree that 6 pool is quite weak, Zerg needs some hot micro to pull off a good 6 pool. Workers are much stronger than they used to be! (and theres more), 6 pool in SC though, when the pool was 150 mins to build.. now that was devestating :D

Alas, it got nerfed pretty darn quickly!

Totally agree, anybody that loses to any cheese should just facepalm and get on with it. learn from your mistakes and alwasy scout key areas.

Not going to deny it, i've been that fool that Fast Expanded and didn't put an overlord over the top of it.. BOOM, cannon rush :(

Now that i've caught up with my 3 days in hospital.. hows things going? some games soon peoples? :)
