**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

MKP gave that last game away -_- No idea why he didn't just use his strengths of having some of the greatest micro in the world and play his standard style.

Absolutely pointless.

You can post replays and I'll go through them also if you'd like :)

Got a new Korean(TW) account earlier. Playing as Random and just got into Diamond =D

hehe no need for that, you'd just say what I already know in that I'm not very good :)

Probably my biggest failing is my micro. Absolutely horrendous I am at it.

If your Gold then your probably having problems with more than just macro. RiseAgainst posted a few replays and none of my points to him were anywhere near "you're bad". Just some things lower leagues players look over.

Plus Toss is the least micro-intensive of the races. It's more of a "survive" until sufficient AoE. FFs are hard though.

yeah posting replays is helpful , kamwah was able to point out some things like the importance of guardian shield against straight up muta ling fights.
Also how I neded to focus on not missing warp cycles.

Its a good way to get some feedback :)
Also feel free to add me

Any tips on how I could have won here?

I feel I threw my army away and didn't take a third quicker. Also when I said 'secure the gold' I meant for my partner to help me secure it, but he took it and never mined from it so I had to look elsewhere for another expo.

XD Team games aren't the best thing to give if you want to improve but I'll take a look over it.

Ignore that then

This is probably my biggest failing in 1s. I lose nearly 90% of the time to 4 gates. I scout for pylons outside my base see none. then work on getting my units out and suddenly I've got loads of stalkers in my base and quickly lose.

Just about to look through that one :)

True, but if it's not stupid (i.e. high level cheesefests) then they're at least fun to watch :D

Yea, when I first started I played a lot of team games with friends. It helps with macro, build orders and dealing with pressure but all in all it's not balanced.

Hmm. So i'd say the most important thing in dealing with a 4gate on that map in particular is getting out your first two sentries to hold the ramp. Once you have your 3 gates/robo/4gates/whatever up then you can much better defend but if he's got the production to keep reinforcing and has already broken your ramp then you're going to be very stuck very fast. Practice getting units out in time to deal with it, making sure that at exactly the time the 4gate hits, you have at least one forcefield with another ready a few seconds afterward. Also dont forget your chronoboost!

Obviously you want to scout the proxy pylon, but if you dont find it you dont necessarily have to worry. The most important thing is that you know exactly what's coming at that point from your scouting (it was very clear) and you should be protecting your ramp.

That's always how i went about defending, I prefer a 3-4 gate defense rather than robo myself but i've not played properly for a while now so i dont know what's in vogue :p
