**** Original Starcraft 2 Thread ****

Starting playing this again last night after almost a year break. Figured I was going to be terrible after being out so long, played a single placement match and got put in bronze league.

Then I went on the best winning streak i've ever had, won 11 (or 12) matches in a row! I'm now sitting at Rank 1 in my division by about 200 points, kept waiting to be bumped up to silver as everyone I was playing against was from silver league, but its not happened yet.

I'll just keep enjoying my easy wins until I do get bumped up hopefully!
 
Congratulations! I remember grtting from platinum to diamond was so muvh more difficult and more satisfying than from gold to platinum, having spent maybe 3 seasons struggling to get promoted. We should have some games again

I watched that match (and most of the others this GSL) and have to say that I was rather impressed :)

On a side note, I am mostly matching Silver guys now (or top 4 Bronze) and getting absolutely annihilated pretty much every game if it goes past about 20mins game time :(

I'm basically playing as if I am going to be cheesed every game (6 pooled, baneling bust, proxy rack or 4 gate) and I think that is where I'm falling down. In all fairness I haven't been cheesed for a while so may have to rethink :p

Sounds like it. Scout a bit more and you'll see if a cheese is coming pretty easily. If you're not sure play safe, as soon as you are sure nothing's in-coming then macro up.

Won a 40 min game tvz last night in diamond. Was well pleased with myself, really back and forth game on cloud k. He left without a GG :(
 
Cheers for that frank, i'll see how I get on this evening :)

No GG no skill :). The games I played this week were all at least 30mins and against guys that were actually decent as opposed to a few when I started calling me a noob etc. I had a good conversation with them after each game, makes the loss a bit more bearable :p
