What is the best (if any) counter to Mass tempest playing as Terran.

I've ran into mass tempest so many times recently and they are brutally (OP??) hard to counter, tried mass marine/viking etc.

Are thors any good?

Any thoughts.

Haven't seen mass tempests in TvP yet. They are pretty bad vs Terran, just get marines and get beneath them, stim and gg :) Add a few vikings too.

Tried that but ran into 10/12 tempests and my marine (3-3) /medvac and vikings got massacred. Maybe crap micro I guess but it wasn't working well.

Reactor vikings and marines should kill them. Tempests are only good really vs massive units like Thors/Ultras/blords/colossus/tempests.

Mass Tempests win against Vikings. He should have a few HT to deal with mass marines.

Your only option against mass Tempests is Raven/Viking/Thor. PDD block Tempest shots and Thors in their new mode works well against Tempests. (You want splash against Mass Voidrays)

Not very easy to transition into mech if you are going for standard bio play...

Then grab Ravens and hope you can dodge the storms while getting close enough before the PDD energy runs out.

Mass Tempests is one of those compositions where if you let him get it then you're bad.

So those of us who prefer macro over cheesy all-ins are bad? Lol ok. Some people have it all figured out it seems.

Someone has their knickers in a twist.

I guess you're the kind of guy who sits in his base and macros while ignoring that your opponent has expanded 4 times and is an unbeatable position due to having way more production and economy.

Either way, I did not say all-in or cheese. You brought that out your backside.

Oh look it's the elitist Mr. all-iner who doesn't all-in.

I guess you are the kind of guy who only cares about his precious ladder points. Have fun with that :)

You seem to have a chip on your shoulder. This isn't teamliquid.net or Bnet forums so you might find you're just going to be laughed at.

Maybe actually understand what I said? I'll explain it to you if you'd really like me too.

Seriously mate... Learn to take advice. If the opponent has an extremely weak mid game so that they can have a strong late game, the answer is to kill him mid game. There's nothing 'cheesy' about attacking - I guess you're one of those guys who just won't attack until maxed out, but that's a good way to never improve. An extremely important part of getting past platinum league is identifying when your opponent just doesn't/won't have enough defence and abusing that, and you don't abuse that by trying to catch up on macro/tech... You just go and kill him, seriously.

Attacking when they have underspent on defense =/= 'cheesy all-in'

First off all I wasn't the one that was asking for advice on how to beat mass tempests, I was just trying to help the guy who wanted advice.

Secondly, I do consider myself a bad player with many many weaknesses (micro, army control) but I am past Plat (Masters since Masters league was introduced in Wol) so I believe I have a good understanding of the game. And no, I don't wait until i max out.

I just didn't like Kamwah's response about someone being "bad" if he lets them mass such an army.Sure, it may be a mistake but that doesn't mean you are bad.
