not much point early game, a lot of others would disagree and go stim or whatever, but if you wanna end early just pure numbers will always be better then a perk here or there that youv spent a lot of gas and minerals on. (wheras you could have got 6+ marines for the same price it costs to go stim)Do you upgrade marines at all?
I have to say I rarely upgrade anything... perhaps my downfall?
By the way I'm still Bronze and have only played around 10 ladder games (4 wins to 6 losses).

I can understand how SC becomes so addictive I've been reading up and thinking about difference strats for the past week, I'm not a geek in the slightest, in fact I don't really play many games at all but this has reignited my 10 year + love of SC from when I was a wee lad.
Just hope the g/friend doesn't find me maniacally tapping away at my macro in a darkened room...![]()

Oh and I completely forgot, how does the friends system work - I don't have any.
Can it be used for ladders (unlikely) and practise (custom) games, do people use it for practise purposes?

naturally if the game is going some distance you need to get stim and shields and then weapons/armour level 1 at least but i normally leave w/a1 off bio units and upgrade whatever vehicle tech i have.
your downfall tbh is probably 1) not constantly producing suvs and 2) your build order and timings.
all comes with practice.
Right, well I'm Bleek... haven't a clue about my number though.
What level are you and how do I find that out about my opponent?

Quite a few 3 rax builds get an early Engineering Bay and get the 1st weapons upgrade. Can make a huge difference in early battles, particularly when it's TvT.
Is a pure Marine based army with upgrades a viable option or is that a bit newb?
Perhaps throw in a load of Medivacs to chew up the gas?
I'm just thinking of ways to improve my micro by keeping builds and attacks to basics.

my starter builds normally go:
9 depot
12 rax
14 rax
15 depot
17 rax
then gas more depots around 20. basically by the time your first rax is done your second one is half way completed and when thats finished you should be building your 3rd

Is it wise to build 3 barracks without having any gas to construct addons for them?
