At the 6/7 mark you usually have a siege tank or couple hellions out, along with enough marines to hold a ramp. Once you hold whatever push they are doing you've pretty much won the game.

Only thing I struggle with is a baneling bust all-in, which if I don't wall well enough can roll me.
 
Fenris, I gave it another few goes, and managed to pull this replay off, which I'm quite happy with.

Only thing is, I didnt get round to making a queen to spread creep.

Really good job there, as you've said, creep is the only thing you missed that is important.

One small point however, overlords don't activate towers, no flying unit does, your best option is to send your first 2 zerglings, one to each tower.

As Zerg, I will eaither do one of three things.

1) Hatchery at 14 and then pool at 14 and gas at 13.

2) Pool at 14, gas at 13, this causes the hatch to be built at around 21.

3) If I see some kind of early pool from the opponent zerg then I get my pool asap, and build a couple of spine crawlers (if its something les than a 12 pool).

Against Terren you can get away with hatch first almost always, just keep an eye out for bunkers being made at your natural.

If a Terren starts with double rax (as in walling off with two rax) then its best to get the fast pool, as they can put a lot of pressure with marines and if they choose to all-in you with scv's then you need the cash from the natural hatch that you would have built to build spine crawlers.

I can hatch first against protoss safely, just make sure you scout what their first building is, if a gateway they you are fine for the time being (they may walk a zealot to your base if in close positions, lings can hold this off).

If they forge first you can keep going with the hatch but try and keep an overlord over the hatch to watch for pylons, which indicate a cannon rush. You have to send multiple drones (6 or 8 to be safe) to kill the pylon and building cannons, if the cannons get up then you will have a realy hard time.

1 rax FE is generally safe in all matchups. Or 2 rax FE

****ing retards playing last night i swear. lost so many 3v3s bc of stupid team mates.

on one game he didnt wall in and we lost - idiot

on another someone despite seeing 3 probes in his main failed to pull suvs to counter and before he knew it had cannons in his base - idiot.

on another someone forgot to scout the main and someone proxy barracked his ass. - idiot.

on another it what has to be the dumbest zerg player iv ever come across failed to secure an expansion 14 mins into the game! - idiot.

i could go on....please if your ****ing new at least play the campaign and a lot of ai matches before even going into team games.

This is why I usually only play 2v2 or 1v1 :-)
 
lol - never good when randoms fail to help you as a team!!

Must admit that at the start of the 2nd season I thought I would try some new tactics like FE as Terran etc, go for fast battlecruisers etc. Just to play a bit differently than my usual "standard" build etc.

However I think it's apparent that most of the time the usual mass marine / marauder / medvac ball is just the way to win!! Upgrade attack and armour and go which I was pretty good at!
 
I long for the day that marines are further nerfed i really do. i have a feeling blizzard will increase all tech time for rax units at some point. they give such a big advatange realitively early in the game. no other unit has those significant buffs then marines and maruaders do.

I dont hate terrans i just hate the fact that tier 1 units are better than the bloody tech 2 and tech 3 stuff
 
Problem is, while terran tier 1/1.5 is awesome, it's upper tier units suck.

If marines are nerfed, you would need to dial back colossi a little bit, and perhaps make warp gates harder to get.

I'd go so far as to say I would decrease the standard gateway cooldown, and make a citadel (ahh I mean twilight council) a requirement for warp gates, while reducing the research time.

This would kill the 4 gate outright, while actually giving standard gateway pressure a slight buff (while not reaching 4 gate proportions).

I wonder what impact getting rid of combat shield would have?

Don't know about that, I can usually counter an early marine rush, by the time they send marines I have my first stalker out (about 5 mins) and the 2 zealots and stlaker usually deal with them. at 6 mins I can start warping in, get an army of about 6-7 units and pressure their base, get a proxy pylon up and keep going, if I'm lucky get a proxy in the back of their base, and start dumping cannons, warping in units. Not reached that many late-games, but carriers mixed with stalkers and immortals can usually deal with anything Terran has to offer. DT's are a great mix in the army as well, as they can do a horrific amount of damage while the opponent is distracted by the large amount of heavy units destroying his thors :) I'm not very good at pvz ATM, as by the time I get immortals out he has roaches, and although immortals cane roaches he has a lot more :(
 
haha - just had a 2 v 2 random.

The guy I'm playing with lags out immediately and leaves me 1 v 2 (against protoss and terran - me as terran)

Anyway - they obviously thought - lets sit back and expand as this should be easy. Anyway due to leaving the other guys base, I basically had 2 bases running from about 1 min in - went for 7 or 8 rax , mass marine and go!!! Could hardly build supply depots quick enough!!

Ended up with me marching across the map with about 60 marines plus about 10 marines at a time re-enforcing the army and wiped them both out!!!
 
Bronze ATM, but carriers aren't a waste, when backed up with stalkers and immortals they do a hell of a lot of damage vs buildings and heavy units :)
 
They are very inefficent for the resources and time spent building them.
any opp that lets you get to a stage of building carriers shouldnt be playing the game.

Hmm not true, same goes with BC. If it gets to late game there is no reason why they cant get them, they are strong.
