Oscar Pistorius thread

Thats ridiculous. The burglar has just come in through the big bathroom window, hears someone and rather than going backwards and leaving decides to abandon his escape route and lock himself in the toilet cubicle?

Once again someone who uses very little reasoning.

Facts you've presumed to say its ridiculous, that he broke in through the bigger window, that the door wasn't closer, that HE KNEW IT WAS A TOILET.

Do you when entering a new house know whats behind every door before you go through it?

You also assume he's going backwards, what if that was the first room he was checking after coming in, so he hears someone and is halfway through that door already.

So so many people keep making daft assumptions, that any intruder would automatically know the layout of the house, that he couldn't possibly have broken in through the window in the toilet, that Pistorious shot through a locked door(because seeing a door and thinking you hear an intruder you automatically know the door is locked, or likewise, an intruder thinks he's been busted couldn't possibly lock the door to stop someone coming through it).

Anyway, he had to get bail, the prosecutions case has been a complete shambles, missing evidence, changing evidence from lead investigator, that same person being removed from the case and frankly just making up crap on the spot.

He could be guilty as sin, or innocent, the bail hearing suggested no reason he shouldn't be given bail, no evidence of flight risk, or intent to harm others, simple as that.

You think his story is dodgy but your happy for him to be free until the trial. Like I said, what a joke.

LOL its not a joke, the fact is that he IS NOT a flight risk and neither is he a danger to the public so if hes neither of those then how is it a joke??

It was the right decision to make in light of how monumentally screwed up the prosecution got this bail hearing wrong.

Fact is now that when the actual trial comes up, im hoping the prosecution gets it right regarding evidence etc otherwise Oscar will walk free and no one will get punished for the death of an innocent woman.

Why? Nair's reasoning for granting bail is very clear. Which is more than can be said for the prosecution's justifcation for remanding him.

Sorry but it's very black and white to me. He shot someone dead a week ago under suspicious circumstances, he should be locked up until they decide if he gets 15 years or they throw away the key.

What will be interesting to see and find out is what exactly is his conditions of bail ie will he have to surrender his passport and could he be placed under house arrest or something similar to that.

What i found disgusting was once the verdict was read out, his brother shouted out yes. Sorry but i found that in very bad taste, sure your happy that hes been released but spare a ****ing thought for his dead gf's family you muppet:rolleyes:. Secondly either way, your brother killed someone either in a rage fit or in an accident so regardless hes killed someone and that is something i could never find reason to celebrate if it was my family member.

Why should he be locked up if he hasn't been convicted?
The bail system is there for a reason.

As for his bail conditions??....looks like it could be close to 100k rand which is about £74-75k to pay.

1 million Rand (£75k or so) but only 100k Rand in cash (£7.5k or so).

Plus

• He appears in court on 4 June at 8.30am.

• He surrenders all passports.

• He refrains from applying for any passports.

• He refrains from entering any airport.

• He surrenders all firearms.

• He refrains from possessing any firearms.

`• He refrains from talking to any witnesses for the prosecution.

• He will have a probation officer and correctional official from the date of release until the conclusion of the case.

• He shall inform the official all his movements and ask for permission for any journeys outside Pretoria.

• He shall give them a phone number and must be contactable day and night.

Sorry but you can't say black and white and then suspicious circumstances in the same breath.

They contradict each other. Hence the need for a justice system
