Oscar Pistorius thread

He didn't have his fake legs on. If it was an intruder, he'd have no chance if they got through.

That's something else to consider.

Why go towards the danger then  lock/barricade bedroom door. Call security/police/scream for help from balcony.

No, instead he grabs his gun, goes towards the noise and fires 4 bullets at whoever he thought was behind the door...

I still believe he killed Reeva in a rage. However, i knew he would never get charged for that as there simply is not enough proof of that.

I am however surprised he didn't get charged for second degree murder.

You don't fire four shots at someone without having the intention to kill them. Simple as that.

Surely you don't fire through a door unless you're trying to kill someone be it girlfriend or intruder, therefore it's murder

There was no direct threat to his life, self defence can't be justified.

Exactly. However, the judge said it was not proven to her that he had intent....

"Oh i fired four shots into a tiny cubicle that someone was standing in, but i never intended to kill them or ever thought that my actions would lead to their death"

bull****

He's guilty, should have gone down for murder.

If it really was an intruder, why would he have needed to break down the door in order to gain entry to the bathroom?

First thing all intruders in a home do is lock themselves in a room?? Ya, ok. Seems legit.

Why didn't he open the door with oh I don't know...the door handle? Whether it be before or after he had shot through it.

If it were any joe blogs they would have been sent down for murder.

His status as one of the worlds top paralympians seems to have granted him a certain level of leniency. His arguments stand up as well as a paper house in a hurricane.

If he genuinely thought it were an intruder, his movements in the room, eg grabbing the gun, getting out of bed would have surely woken up his gf if she were in the bed. There was nothing to stop him from calling out to her, whether it be quietly or loudly to confirm her presence in the room.

Surely his concern would or should have been for the safety of both himself and his gf.

Not, I heard a noise in the bathroom, must be an intruder, shoot now, then find out if everyone is safe.

Well, except this is South Africa, and intruders probably have guns, and bullets might start coming through the door in the opposite direction any second...

Did she not end yesterday about using excessive force suggesting she was leading to the manslaughter charge? Only to now talk about the firearms charges?

Oscar Pistorius is acquitted of one count of discharging a firearm in public.

He specifically says he didn't pull the trigger then later says he did

I really don't understand how he got off the ammo charger? The state couldn't prove intent of ownership? He knew he had the ammo? Yes. He knew it was illegal? Presume yes? His father in law won't confirm he was looking after the ammo for him.....

fresco is his friend , whos statements didnt always add up , but she might let him off because he did provide evidence against oscar in one of the gun charges

whole thing seems a farce tbh. as i understand it they are saying he didnt mean to kill the person behind the door ? well why fire a gun more than once at them !!!
