** OSX Yosemite **

How do you know if Hands Off works?

I am not sure if my MPB is compatible, how do you find out?

I am loathed to update my iPad fearing it will slow it to a snail, it is the 3rd gen one.

Run System information then go to Bluetooth under Hardware.

There's a pile of information in there :
Apple Bluetooth Software Version: 4.3.0f10 14890
Hardware, Features, and Settings:
Name: Magic's MacBook Pro
Address: <Redacted>
Bluetooth Low Energy Supported: Yes
Handoff Supported: Yes
Instant Hotspot Supported: Yes
Manufacturer: Broadcom
Transport: USB
Chipset: 20702B0
Firmware Version: v99 c8864

Yeah, no chance with a C2D. My old 2011 quad core i7 MBP wouldn't have supported it either as it "only" had Bluetooth 2.1.

An SSD transforms the older Macs. The guy I sold my 2008 unibody MacBook to stuck one in and he's very happy with it, I've just done the same with the Mac mini I use as an HTPC.

Open up Safari on the iPhone. A Safari icon with an iPhone zit should appear at the very left of the dock.

For the phone through the Mac thing I just called myself from the landline. Took a reboot of Yosemite before it worked though.

Swipe up the Safari icon in the bottom left to open Safari using the active tab on the Mac.

Gonna stick an SSD/more RAM in my old 2009 MacBook unibody one day...hopefully soon!

I think I'm still rocking 2gb ram lol but for what I use it for I can see little point in upgrading (though I would go for the MacBook air if I did).

Anyone who has done it to an older MacBook, is there anyway to check compatability? Or will any ssd be okay?

I thought that there was an issue with the trash icon being missing after install, turns out that's how its supposed to be. Other than that it looks pretty nice, will have a play around a bit more later
