Overclockers UK Grand Opening!! Saturday 10th November

will there be any good deals online in conjuction with the grand opening

It's just in the shop it seems but there should be some deals on the forum for members that don't live nearby imo.

Didn't OcUK make the Gadget Show deals available to the forum members?

More than 10 of each item probably means 11 of each item. Cant see the problem in giving a better answer so people know whether to waste their time or not. This has put me right off. For the rest of you, happy camping, hope you all walk away satisfied and don't forget to wrap up warm.

I can probably get there and back from Cornwall for £40. But it'd be a 12 hour journey, and there is a big University nearby, so there will be loads of students camped overnight for these!

So chances are slim for any of us not local.

Your right, I bet they'll only have a hand full of GPU's so it wouldn't be worth it tbh.

Far too vague answers from the OcUK staff on how 'limited' the word 'limited' really means.. There are plenty of loyal customers (myself included) who are willing to trek hundreds of miles to visit the new store, see the staff, etc and grab some good deals.. But if you can't be bothered to give accurate figures on what limited stock there will be - why bother!?

I foresee a few angry customers on the day..

Kinda annoying so far, know a fair few people who want to go up - if it's only 11 doubt we can be arsed.

Would be nice to know a rough figure.

More than 10 of each is better than no answer!

Still not much and I forgot about the local students who will go and buy them and then sell them for a profit on Ebay :(

Devrij, if I can blag Saturday off work I'm thinking about tripping down. I'll have a spare seat and I'd be setting off from Elland.

If you do then count me in!

It's pretty obvious every man and his dog wants a 7970. If there's only around ten units... then.. well yeah. Not good!

Unfortunately in store deals are exactly that. :)

These deals are below actual trade cost because manufacturers have funded these in store deals with strict rules they are not available online.

I hope there will be some online deals. Would be shame if there wasn't.

Most of their business will be online, I'm guessing.

edit: bah posted at the same time as Gibbo.

Well, some lucky students will be making a nice profit on eBay this weekend.. could really have used a 7970 but 600 miles for a small chance is not really feasible.

Fair enough. So will you do us some extra special deals on some 7970's next week? Going by this tread you'll sell lots. :)

Surely still not working are you?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr which is why they should have had 10 for the first customers within 50 miles and 10 put aside for the first customers coming further.............

Not fair living so far North.............:(

Well, to be fair, they probably do want to attract local customers, not forum members who get the next day free delivery and probably never bother using the store anyway.

I wouldn't bother. 180 miles one way for me.

Yeah but why penalise dedicated ocuk customers who live 300 miles away? You could put half aside for people travelling a long way :(
