Overclockers UK Grand Opening!! Saturday 10th November

Will there be a limit on these in store specially priced 7970, am thinking 2 would be good but if there is a limit of 1 per customer not really worth the trip ?
 
too much looking a gift horse in the mouth here, the same would happen in any store opening anywhere, and does happen in major store sales in the capital.

I'm happy with a free sarnie and a showgirl or two

The manufacturers fund retail events, they made us sign agreements that such deals don't go online.

I put a Sapphire 7970 online at £199 the world industry would go mental and all demand it from Sapphire, something they and others can't afford to do. Plus AMD would want answers too, as it's simply impossible to buy a 7970 anywhere near this price, it's massively below cost and cost £1000s to support such a deal.

Yet doing a one time deal for a new large retail store that has a niche Market can be signed off within strict guidelines.

Because I don't think many people would want to drive hundreds of miles for a free sarnie and a chat with Gibbo, no matter how nice he is :)

edit: not implying Gibbo is one of the showgirls.

I'm not skitting, just everyone asking the same questions about T and C for a store opening special offer.

Ask me and I will try to get one to you for offer price plus postage. I would probably get killed in the rush though as I am not queuing from early morning :cool:

If anyone is going and doesn't want the 7970 themselves, I will happily pay cost + P&P + ??? for getting me one :p
 
Going to stick my 2p in.

1.If you want one of these mad deals then go down the night before and sleep in your car :)
2.if you really really want one of these mad deals then go down the night before and sleep in your car :)

It must be worth it to go down the night before to be first in the q and snap some of these deals up surely :)

Wow those deals are amazing! Do they qualify for next day....er...wait a minute, only available to visitors to the store? Hmm, OK, tank and a half of petrol, leave at 3Am to get there on time, estimate about £120 in petrol alone....not worth it.

Well done guys, you just screwed over the many people that can't visit the store. I'd say there are more customers that can't practically go to the store than customers who can. nice effort chaps.

no one is being "screwed over" just because you can't/won't put yourself out enough to visit HQ on grand opening day.

Goodness me how they are persecuting you! :p

I'm tempted to go up and get the 7970 and DGM but it's 5 hours worth of driving and no idea how many people are going to be camped outside when I turn up.

Best to assume that with those prices there will be a long line. Especially if word has gotten out to the local student population.
 
Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I could queue from like midnight but might be some anoraks already there for 2 days in tents. I went to the Diablo 3 opening event early and was still 330 in the queue lol. Some guy had been there for 3 days!
 
Id love to get the 27" DGM and 7970 but ive just bought a gtx 670, still willing to make the journey as i finish work 2am saturday, anyone near cumbria willing to give me a lift and split petrol costs?
 
Great deals, but for me it is easy, I am not local, so forget one off promotion, I go for 24/7 best online price inc delivery!.

For the first time in ages, my last purchase was from a competitor but they had the deal.

No mater what, and I have read all posts so far, how the hell can you give up hours of your life to travel, eat into the savings of the purchase with fuel etc?... thats no deal to me!

I am a OC online customer that is my market, that is how I shop at a distance :cool:

Well since I was prepared to spend £200 + £40 on the card plus travel, I have basically convinced myself now that I can afford a 7950 for the same price :p

So next time there's a decent 7950 for £240 (from a brand I like and trust), I think I'll just put myself out of my self-imposed misery and buy the damn thing :p

And I'll try to forget about this amazing offer, because 600 miles round trip is too much!
