We have this out of hours service where I work where you get £50 a day and £100 a day for weekend total £450 for the week.

Well there is about 8 engineers that want to do it so we basically were meant to get one week every two months. But the guy doing the rota is also one of the engineers. So one of the engineers dropped out and instead of redo'ing the rota he just went ahead and assign all those weeks to himself.

So ended up from june to the end of september. He gets to do 7 weeks and me and three other engineers do 3 weeks in total over the four months. Basically my argument is that he should have divided them up equally. But he is being greedy and refuses to change the rota. Two of the engineers only got two weeks out of four months and one of the engineers only wanted to do weekends i think.

Basically this guy is refusing to change the rota and makes up excuses like it was easier for him to do it over anyone else. He is just being a greedy *******. any advice on what i can do. This guy is just a IT individual at the same level as me. My boss was cc in to the email but didn't get involved.I am thinking of getting all out of hours IT individuals to moan about it.

Mention it to your boss, I'm sure he'll understand? If he doesn't insist that you do the rota next time and give him nothing :D.

I'm amazed that talking to your line manager wasn't your next thought after you didn't get anywhere with the rota-writer.

Well my line manager was CC in to the email and he didn't get involved. I think he will just say it is up to the rota creator because he is weak.

Or - from experience - your email was just one of hundreds in his Inbox and he missed it. Deal with these things 1:1 - it is far more effective and quicker too.

I don't moan a lot.

Err...

Yea ill mention it too him next time i see him face to face.

As for the poll I am sure if you made one it would show that i am like a positive shining light for people on the forums and most people know me as the bag of joy and positiveness. :D

Going to him face to face shows that your not going to let this lie, plus I always miss emails as I get so many

Stop groening.

If manager won't do anything about it then speak to the rest of the team and maybe raise it with HR.

Just go to the person above them and raise your concerns.

It doesn't sound very fair if they are doing what you describe.

OP is the guy who managed 16 hours of lateness over 2 months because he misses alarms and the underground isn't very good and posted about sleeping at work....

For anyone who has a spare 30 minutes and wants a megalol - clicky.
