Overwatch

I do genuinely worry about some people and their lives.....

Playing just now and one guy playing admitted that he was having to play on a touchpad as he smashed his mouse in the last round.....picks widow....great start - obviously has issues.

Anyway - throughout the entire game all he did was abuse other players, troll as widow, and was disgustingly nasty about wishing people would "die in their sleep etc" and "he would hunt people down and kill them etc"

You do worry for society as a whole if people are like this!!

I made a discord server:

https://discord.gg/DCaR9aa

Download the discord app if you haven't: https://discordapp.com/

Just click the link and join the server. Set discord to run with your computer as well so you can always be notified if people want to play. If you want to play just @everyone in chat.

If anyone wants control of the server to add an avatar, create channels etc then let me know.

edit: copy/pasting the link into the app works better. Clicking it opens it in the web app which is for temporary use I guess.

Yep! I try to win obviously when I'm playing, but it's a computer game at the end of the day. People will be lying on their death beds thinking "Why was I like that?"

Sign of the times unfortunately - the Twitch generation.

I'll hop on tonight at some point. Probably after the darts. I think I've got you on my friends list already haven't I?

Yeah you're on my list but it would be better if everyone was in discord

It's pretty much the standard way of organising anything video game releated these days

I've just joined the Discord channel. Only started playing Overwatch last weekend. At lvl 12 so far so not enough to get in to the ranked games. Keen to join in any groups though, would be much better than playing solo!

Sounds good to me! I've no issue with people being rubbish or new, just as long as the team plays together. :)

Joined the discord server.

I'm still gutted I ended up in bronze but that's probably to do with me doing qualifying late last season and sucking a bit. I had a quick game after work just to warm up and ended up with five gold medals and I didn't even play that well. I think the rest were licking the windows.

I'm done with solo que.......

So fed up all season 3 with teams that have ZERO communication - I mean no one in the chat at all. Season 4 has started the same.....4 games tonight - I'm the only person in the chat trying to sort any team direction etc - no one speaking........4 losses.

It's such a simple easy game when even 3 or 4 people speak and communicate.

I'll be in the discord channel if I'm around - please invite me for a game......if not, i'm finished with it for now. Can't be arsed dropping any further down the ranks despite doing 20k healing or 15k damage etc when other players can't be arsed speaking.

So ****** off with the players in this game.

People expect to me to carried in this game..

people usually talk in diamond/master tho when ive played last few seasons..

What do you expect lol. That's how every matchmaking works. You won't get higher rank until you get better and earn it

I don't have a problem with earning it, but in most other competitive games there's a clear path to improving and understanding what you're doing wrong... I sucked hard a CS:GO when I first started playing that (being much more used to arena shooters than the more tactical and positional style of CS), but it was clear what needed improving and how to go about doing it - as time went by focusing on aim drills, positioning, practice etc. you can see and feel the difference... In Overwatch it feels more like you just have to get lucky; with your team-mates, with the enemy team, with whether or not you happen to win or lose games in streaks... Half the time it's hard to tell if a loss is your fault or not, the other half of the time it can be hard to even understand why you lost at all... You can climb 500SR one afternoon only to fall by 600SR the next, which seems massively inconsistent and suggests that something stinks in the way the ranking works... Last time I checked people don't regulary bounce from Gold Nova to DMG and back in the space of a few games in CS

inb4 "I only solo queue and have climbed from day 1 all three seasons won 99% of my games and you just gotta get gud"... I'm not disputing that I can always get better at a game, but I think if you don't find yourself relating to any of the above you've either been very lucky or have placed high enough to climb out of the meat-grinder that is the section of ranks where the majority of the playerbase sits

Orisa - Super tank.....played her a bit last night in PTR.

She feels massively powerful with shields/boost/weapon etc but usual counters are likely. Genji is a good counter, I think Junk will get back into play more to remove shields and also Paharh etc.

It's good fun now - poeple will moan she's OP but I also think Sombra might counter well with her EMP/hack ability to stop the sheilds going up etc.

Yeah I see what you mean. I think they need to rework the streak system, that's why the SR gains and losses are so massive.

Just had a really good fun game on Osiris. We went 2-0 down and one of our players started getting salty saying "gg etc etc". I'm a little bit drunk as I just got back home after work drinks and was super positive saying we can still do this and to believe in ourselves - we ended up winiing 3-2 hahaha! Salty guy added me on Battlenet lol.
