Overwatch

If you 'main dps' and cant climb, stop playing dps your trash, hard truth but needs to be told, learn to tank or support.DPS is legit the easiest role in the game.

So your advice is that if you aren't good at what you 'claim' is the easiest thing in the game, then do something that you say is harder. Awesome! :D

Im not gonna lie it was kinda of a tilted reactionary post lmao

Still,a majority of the playerbase picks 'dps' and sucks at it,its pretty infuriating.

As far as easiest thing to play,it really is.Tanks and supports rely on each other and dps players for success.Where as playing dps is kinda a lone wolf activity a lot of the time.

Playing tracer/genji/widow you dont really have to rely on your team to do your own thing ect

This season has just sucked honestly,i still climbed a fair bit maining tank but the amount of derp i have experienced has been pretty substantial,i know i can play dps well but then if i do so we have 5 dps comp and well thats just not gonna work is it?

I just wanna Zarya and melt stuff honestly :p

Kinda agree with this, It's also all down to being able to change roles in order to counter the opposite teams chars, But that never happens now days,
As everyone one picks DPS and suck ! I mean instalock Hanzo with 200+hrs but playing in 1900 rank, I mean come on!

I can play okay as dps but in comp I pretty much main tank (including Mei as a possible tank)... I know all of the tanks well enough to use them effectively as well as understanding what types of game/scenario will benefit from which of the tanks... It can get quite frustrating though when your dps players insist on doing stupid things or making stupid picks... I usually go with Winston right off the bat because I feel like he has the best chance of being useful in the most situations (i.e. at the start of a round before you know what the other team are going to do) - and if you end up against a team that can't deal with him it's amazing :D

Any of the current ones should be fine - running at qHD with all the settings max,I am still getting great FPS with a GTX1080 in most matches, and that is with an IB Core i7 too.

Ok thanks I downloaded the 388 driver from nvidia site.

I wasn't really worried about how many frames I get just worried about that Rendering Device Lost error that loads of people are getting now which affects the the last 10 amd driver releases.

Hopefully I can play without crashing now.

I can't even get back into plat from gold :D Saying that, I've been stung a few times by others picks and play in that if you don't carry fully, you won't even be close to a win. My playtime is also well under what seems to be average now.

I think it's probably unfair to say DPS is easiest. As you say, you can be kinda on your own. Does that make it easier?

Look at Mercy... generally hold left click and fly at people now and then (massive, over simplification, but you get my point perhaps) and Reinhardt is similar (again, I've seen some great Reinhardt's do so much more, but your primary task is to hold a shield in front of people)

I agree... I main as Soldier, and my aim is pretty good, so my focus is improving positioning, movement and learning how far to push, which is key for all characters. However, some people just don't have a knack for aiming... you need accuracy long range (e.g. pick supports and Pharah), and you need accuracy close to maximise head shots. Reinhard has a pretty low skill floor... I only play him occasionally, and find it easy to be consistent and beneficial to the team (just don't do stupid charges). Mercy has a low skill floor, but a really good Mercy makes a huge difference compared to an average/useless one, better alternating boost/heal, use of rez, mobility and generally staying alive longer to keep helping the team.

They're all difficult to play well I think. I was trying to say, and I think Stu maybe has said it better, there are some that are easier to play to a 'satisfactory standard'. I main Soldier too and I certainly don't think he's one of the harder ones to play. I think Genji, Zarya, Ana or McCree are probably a lot harder. (But I've not played them much... as I don't think I would cope in comp with them, so could be wrong!)

Placements mean jack **** now it seems, last season and this season, been dumped right back where I was???? 5 wins, 5 losses, but each time I had at least 2 golds and played really 'none meta' (shudder) heroes...

I am sure I've seen a video of someone winning all 10 placement games and only being placed 10 SR higher than the previous season.

I've not had much luck in placements. I'm sick and tired of getting placed with 3-stacks where ALL of them chose DPS, most of the time there is a reaper and a hanzo which sucks as most of the time the enemy will have a phar-mercy combo. No one is willing to change to counter enemy picks even when the reaper continually gets shut down by a pharah. Massive PITA but what can you do. Really wish there was a pure solo queue (or that others would be more considerate - it is not a typically shooting game, if you want that go play COD or something, this game revolves around team strategy)

/rant over :p haha

Wouldn't 5 wins and 5 losses mean they have you about right?

I've had my best start yet, winning my first 4 placements. I'm fully expecting a dive in luck today as I finish them off.

**EDIT** I would say it again, play NA servers, not Europe. My four matches have been a pleasure with communication and people switching as needed (including myself as tbf, I've been ineffective as my main Soldier)

Agreed, I played first 5 seasons in EU before I moved out here to the states and playing on US servers is much more fun, everyone is on mic.

As for my 50/50, it just sucks it bases it purely down to the match result and now how well you did, or so it seems. One match I had 30 kills and gold elims as Mei... MEI! Genji and junk had considerably less, we lost and I feel like I was penalised for it. Just really don't like being stuck in this low rank like last season. I want to get back to 2,800+ again.

I am not solo queuing any more, join OW community on discord Ocuk or Unit Lost and it would be so much easier for you. Everyone is on mic and know their heroes (mostly) :)
