Overwatch

I just read on overwatch forum that reaper now has the highest winrate of any character in diamond, masters, grand masters.

So looks like it's not just plat and golds that are struggling to shut him down.

From what I have seen the best counters still seem to be ana and mcree and the best tanks against him seem to be zarya and orisa. Probably if I was going against reaper I probably want ana, moira, zarya, orisa, mcree, reaper.

This is the squad then.

LETS GO REAPER STOMP TONIGHT!

I think Dva can probably still be very good against him (it always has been)... the problem is just getting used to the Dva changes... I've been trying but it still throws me off a bit at the moment

Finished placements on my alt tonight which was a sort of DPS (Reaper and McCree) account before the patch.

What a joke Reaper is now. I was just walking through enemies straight to the backline and melting them.

The Dvas I came up against just wasted matrix and then it was headshot central right in the middle of her hitbox.

Sustain was ridiculous. 1v5'd a team on the first point on Blizzard world to stall. He's crazy powerful.

I agree with Famas that Lucio does well in the current meta... his boop can really mess up Reaper play, and I find Lucio hard to kill when he is jumping and riding all over the place, and if he lands a triple headshot then he wins... certainly worth consideration!

@imginy you can take advantage of your alt account and try a totally new hero... with your preference for a gamepad, I guess not hitscan, but Pharah, Sym or Junkrat might be fun, I think you would be good at Zarya, and DVA or Mei could be good but they do rely on good aim to get the most out of them.

I have came back to the game today after a short break .

I have been playing mei and seems to be lot of fun.

Aiming doesn't seem to be an issue, at distance it's much like lucio just stick it head height and shoot in straight line. Upclose it's much like brig just hold fire and jump about a lot.

I tried the other dps and characters couldn't make it work. Reaper was a lot of fun but sadly my aim is never going to get me anywhere with him.

See how it goes with mei. so far so good though.

I've played a spot of Apex Andy.

Quite good fun, but actually after taking a break from OW going back last night was quite fun.

I even dared playing comp with DPS with Ginny and we even managed to win a few. But more importantly we (at least I) had a good laugh. Something I've not done on OW most of this season.

I guess I'll be taking a break for a while, seeing as I've gotten addicted to Apex Legends! (Just me from here?)

I've been playing it too... bit of a shock at first going from Overwatch to a game that's actually relatively well designed, it's kind of highlighted just how awful Overwatch is really... The characters and stuff in Overwatch are great but clearly Blizz have put almost zero effort into trying to make the game a fun gameplay experience (beyond the minimum required to shovel as many lootboxes out the door as they can)... Apex on the otherhand feels like the team know what they're doing and have designed the whole game around the gameplay first and foremost

I think your being a bit hard on the OW dev team.

Its assume its lot easier to develop a BR game (even with hero classes and abilities) and a single map VS an objective based hero shooter with more than 1 map.

They cant really be compared to be honest.

I'm not talking about the volume of stuff developed, as obviously Overwatch have done more there... but understanding how to make a game that plays well and is fun, with QOL features that assist the player and lead to a good experience

Example - people have been saying for ages that more information in-game or post-game would be very helpful (like a proper scoreboard with Kills/Assists/Deaths) to help understand what wasn't working or how well you were performing... and that's just a single example amid countless things that could be tried to improve the actual gameplay experience... what about role queue? hero bans? a ping system or other ways of communicating non verbally with your team?

But no... far better to add another new hero who will be broken beyond all compare for a few weeks (so that the keen players can drop that cash for lootboxes to make sure they've got the freshest skins for their new OP bae) and then "balance" the hero with some sort of change that makes them completely terrible and then the cycle begins anew... Or constantly "balancing" things entirely around a pro-level meta that doesn't relate to 90%+ of the playerbase and hence ends up making the game predictable, boring and not fun

Yeah your phara is doing well, seems fun phara+mei.

I tried some matches on my own today and have to say mei is a lot better when we got your phara in the air raining down on them.

Good thing about phara and mei is none of the soul destoying bs from unchecked reapers.

Ill be on tonight DW ;)

Getting frustrated with this game. Ones minute I'm 2350 and the next I'm 2150 which in putting down to inadequate team mates. I play dps and either receive no sheilding or healing or I play tank and am out damaging and killing more than The dps.

If the latter is the case, your probably playing your role wrong.

Also as DPS don't always rely solely on supports, your position and use of the health packs on maps is key.

I say this as someone who usually always plays support (or at least used to), having to heal and watch DPS players do silly things like stand next to a health pack and ping for healing, or play in front of a tank etc etc.

Imginy will confirm - I LOVE people pinging "need healing" its my favourite thing in the game.

Ill climb out of gold this season or the next im sure.

If you ever want to team up with us let us know. We don't take things super seriously, and as a result usually have a good laugh.

2350-2150 is not a big difference that's only 8 losses more than you won.

In gold and plat everyone is kind of just doing there own thing with there own idea of how the game should be played.

If you want something consistent you need to team up with someone. If you're a dps player just go duo with some healers and get them pocket you.

I was playing in masters most of last season but right now I'm currently about your rank 2100. If you wanna team up with me and musty we playing in the evenings. We are planning on leaving gold this week so jump along for the ride.

Add me if ya want, I can teach you stuff .
