Overwatch

Although I've not played OW since Apex came out, I think I will likely still play it. Tbh, PubG didn't really hit the spot for me and OW was kind of all I had. It's nice now I have two games I (could) play!

I like to think I'll occasionally dip back into Overwatch, but in all likelihood when I do I expect it'll be one or two games of comp that go poorly and leave me thinking "why am I torturing myself with this rubbish when I could be playing Apex?"

I found this quite interesting...we've been discussing a lot in games how Brig is really struggling in the current meta at our level, but every OWL team was running Brig over the weekend. (She is good in CTF though!)

At all levels brig is a really bad pick now, unless you are running goats.

The changes to brig were supposed to stop goats but made it so that now brig is only a good pick if you are running goats.

Is there any kind of progression system with apex? I think that's what's put me off BR games

How do you mean? As far as I can tell there's not really any kind of "perks" or any kind of levelling up of your character (there's some stat tracking that amounts to "ooo look at me I've played the game loads" but it's nothing more than decoration on your profile)... The weapons all spawn in the map and you start with nothing so there's nothing to "unlock" in that sense, the closest thing to it would be that some characters may require unlocking (at launch there are 2 locked characters) - technically I guess that makes it possible to have a bit of a pay2win element but so far it doesn't seem like the abilities of the locked chars (or indeed any of them) are really powerful enough to make that the case

More the fact of a leadrboard or rank or anything. Ie with overwatch you have progression in the fact you had ranks.

Because the rank in Overwatch is really a meaningful measure of your skill as a player right?

I'm sure they will introduce some sort of "competitive" type mode down the road, but really the feeling of progression in Apex or any actual skill based game is that you can see in yourself that over time you learn how to improve at the game and become a better player... (unlike in Overwatch where it just kind of tricks you into having the feeling that you can or are improving, but really you're just spinning that roulette wheel again every time you queue)

Seriously I just switched on overwatch league and it is brig, lucio, zen, rein, zarya, dva on both teams.

exact same as I watched the other night.

You think all the money and time they invest into this game they would sort this out. I would buy the £15 pass but not to watch the same match every time.

Played some Comp on my Alt last night. Never seen such a collection of brain-dead morons. Think all the good players have jumped ship to Apex. Might play again when Hero 30 comes out.

First year ive watched it, and yes the matched (for the most part) have been very boring.

Truth. The 25K damage blocked, 17K Damage, 4 golds as Rein skill and still lose.

If ya got 4 golds as rein it's normally a loss.

My last game before turning off last night was 4 golds rein.

If your team is playing ok then at least one of the dps should take one of your medals.
