Overwatch

Really quite enjoyed it, played a lot this weekend. Wish it wasn't £45 though, if it was 30 I'd snap it up.

It's £31 for the origins edition at cdkeys.com

I'm tempted, I've enjoyed the 6 hours I've played it, struggling to think of a reason not to pick it up...:p

Some gameplay of me as roadhog

This should be my ideal shooter - I like simple WASD plus 1-4 type setup, so this ticks the boxes there. However call this my bugbear or a chip on my shoulder but I can see the inevitable direction where the words "meta" and "comp" will appear in every article or post on the game and if you're not up with the latest meta or comp then you'll get spawn camped every game. I find the attempts to semi professionalise games quite alienating. I'm of average ability and only ever play for fun but feel marginalised. Hearthstone is the same along with pretty much every MOBA.

Anyway, that's my moan over should anyone wish to disagree.

Pretty sure I'm going to buy the origins edition off of cdkeys.com

Sat down to play a few rounds of this with the missus after dinner on Saturday, suddenly it was 2:30am - great fun! Some frustrating games mixed in but in that time I feel like we learnt a lot about how to play some of the heroes... helped a lot having 2 of us so at least we could guarantee 2 on our team would be working as a team. We got joined by a few friends at points during the evening which helped further

Road Hog is probably my favourite class to play; got a 21 streak with him in one match and was just annoying the hell out of the other team hooking them out of their ultimates etc. :D

Quite enjoyed the open beta. Technically very good, solid experience, good pool of heroes, some balancing issues (definitely some different 'tier' of characters). Games are quick, I wish they'd last longer.

top-tier heroes IMO, roughly in the order of being a pain-in-the-bum :
- Widowmaker.
- McCree.
- Tracer.
- Genji.
- Junkrat.
- Reinhart.
- Mei.
- Pharah.
- Lucio.
- Mercy.

Most played defense : Junkrat (spam king, not even Hanzo and his arrow spam can compete).
Most played Offense : Pharah (haven't tried Genji, but he looks quite overpowered in the right hands, Widowmaker, meh, just pure sniper cheese, OP as hell, Tracer too, feels OP with the recall + full-heal).
Most played Tank : Reinhart (well, he is kinda a must have in some situations, D.Va good all round).
Most played Support : Mercy (like all of them, apart from Symmetra, which feels super-weak and useless without the teleport ability, Lucio best all-rounder, Zenyata pretty good offensive support).

So yeah, looking forward to more competitive matches. Maybe find a crew to join.

How long do i need to play a game to realise i dont like it?

If you take a bite into some food you have never tried before,Do you need to eat it all before you decide you dont like it?..;)
I know its not the same thing,But i think you understand what im getting at,The feeling just wasn't there..a bit meh.

I understand your point here, but this isn't just one piece of food - different heroes and classes is like a variety of food and you might find something you like. Of course, not all games are for everyone :)

It is £30. Do people not realise that the £45 game is the collectors edition with extra garbage?

To be fair, when you click the buy button on Battle.net it takes you straight to the £45 Origins version.

Edit: I guess there's no buy button on the main launcher now that everyone can play. But on the shop the banner that goes to Overwatch goes straight to the Origins version, and the only one listed on the front page of the shop is Origins. To see that there is a £30 version you have to go to the Overwatch tab in the shop and it lists both versions there.

Yes found that to be a bit underhand. The game itself is fun but can't help think once its released and there's teams and people learn the easy ways to win then the fun will disappear but for now its worth the £30.

Blizzard will be on top of anything that gets too overpowered.

They will, but they're also generally quite well measured when it comes to this stuff... i.e. they won't just nerf something into the ground because a lot of butthurt players are crying about it on reddit, but will look carefully at statistics etc. and give something time to see if players can come up with any natural counter strategies etc. first

Actually they say you need to eat food 7 times before you know if you like it or not.

still not totally convinced that this is worth the price. It's good fun, entertaining but just don't see it holding my attention for more than a few months....

you can get it for £28 with dlc from key sites.

i enjoy the game but feel it has no depth to it.i play dirty bomb a lot which is free and basically the exact same game just looks different.

that suits my needs of a bit of action doing same but free.

I totally agree with you. It was fun for 15 hrs but for me it would be like heroes of the storm all over again e.g play it for a few months and then get bored because the pugs turn into prats bitching about people player choice ect ect . If it was free to play with an option to buy chars I might of bought a couple and played for a few months but £33 is to steep for me with out a single player campaign.

At £30 if i get a couple of months out of it then its a bargain. £30 is nothing... easily spend double that on a night out. Cinema for 2 will cost more than that and so does a meal.
