Overwatch

Give it a week or so and i bet it will be completely different. When the tdm crowd realise thats not what this is about they will go back to other games leaving the team players maybe! Ill probably use the a.i mode for a while to get a jist of the heroes

its been out a day!.

people buy games to enjoy them not be dictated to by others.

if you want a more competitive scene ,then that unlocks later plus experience of players who dont drop the game will raise and it will naturally get better with time.

Not everyone is super serious ,i must be the best player of all time and my team should feel the same.

people are trying out classes at the moment and there are less tactical and less advanced players learning the ropes, maybe people need to learn a little more tolerance.

i get peoples frustration however it is the right of others to enjoy the game as they wish, hence why grouping up with your friends is a option for more serious play, not everything in this world has to be a competitive d*** swinginging contest.

lets also not forget how long this game has actually been released!, which makes these comments of frustration a little silly,im sure everyone was epic at csgo on release day...

Indeed, is is what i was getting at and as a casual gamer of late, its all ready feeling a bit off putting. Hopefully when the competitive mode is out it helps to seperate players like myself from the hardcore.

Buy a team based game and get angry at people who ask you to play as a team ?

I see people ignoring team tips and stacking hero or if there no tank or healer i just leave as 10/10 your team get steam rolled and its not fun for ether team.

Unbalanced teams and being killed behind a wall (ignoring that annoying dragon ultimate) are my two big frustrations in enjoying the game.

+1 for a forced team balance mode

Last night I heard McCree say "It's high noon", i was looking at him and I hid behind a pillar... nope. Still instagibbed.

I still want to play more though

I would never get angry about it mate, for me if someone is playing as a hero i would like to use i would just try someone else, just saying the attitude can be quite off putting. Siege did it well if i remember correctly, only 1 of each character in a match i can see them doing this for the competitive mode or across the board. For now i imagine they are happy letting people experiment

You've got to imagine that a lot of people who have bought the game may not have even played the Beta so it's all new to everyone at the moment.

I've had some great public matches where it's been right down to the wire (which is always more exciting than steam-rolling) but also had some poorer ones and to be fair, I didn't appear anywhere on the 'Play of the game' or 'top players' screen so I'm clearly not perfect (to be fair I am learning classes as I go)

Having said that, it would be good to team up as I have 0 friends on my Battle.net account.

Are people actually using voice comms? That would make a huge difference. Never heard anyone say anything in a public game.

Edit: Battle.net name is: GAmbrose

4. The few times we do somehow manage to have some sort of form with reinhardt shielding and the others behind the shield, they completely ignore every flanking enemy that tries to chase me down, I try to remind them that they need to protect me. Nothing. Of course.

This is the worst. I will always play Mercy/Lucio unless they are already picked. Lucio it's not too bad, Mercy however... not so much. People in public games are just completely oblivious to the healer. I could have a reaper and tracer on me and my Reinhardt will just try to 1v1 the whole team in a 45 degree cone vision in front of him.

Don't even get me started on the Winston's that just leap away leaving me to fight a Genji, or the people who pick up a health pack to get the 20 health their missing even when I'm healing them and I have like 50 health left.

People seem to think that just because their actively being healed that we're both invulnerable and it's roflstomping time.

I really want to like Mercy, she seems a better healer than Lucio, she's able to fly to and directly heal people she chooses but it's a bit boring dodging around while keeping a heal beam going. With Lucio i'm able to join in with the fighting too.

I guess I'm talking about class differences/balance there aren't I? I should just stick with Lucio.

Maybe I should try Zenyatta too, can Symmetra heal at all?

The terrible team comps are pretty frustrating. Hopefully it gets better as people play more, but my Dota experience tells me there will always be a large amount of selfish players.

Remember you can change heroes during the match. It might actually be effective to a have 2 Widowmakers and a Hanzo at some points on some maps. But when the payload is 1cm from the finish or when the enemy is at 99% on the Greece map then switch to a tanky hero and get on the damn point!

I'd personally say Lucio is better than Mercy. Her healing is active and other than dash around she can't do anything else while healing or buffing damage. Lucio can heal as much as she can passively and still do damage, knockback, control and is extremely mobile. He's also arguably better on defense as he can amp up with a speed boost and have your team back very quickly. Mercy however can heal people from further away and also people in the air (like Pharah).

Zenyatta isn't really a dedicated healer of sorts and is somewhere between damage and healing. You'd pick him as a top-up healer alongside Lucio/Mercy. He'd generally pull around half the raw healing Mercy or Lucio can, but also provides an amazing debuff and can do some brutal damage. Downside he is extremely squishy; enough so that you'll die to a body shot from Widowmaker at full health.

Symmetra has no healing and only really shines on defense for her teleporter. Played correctly though in close quarters she deals significant damage. She is a really great character to play on defense though. Have a look at this video, it really shows how she can shine in a game.

its okay moaning about balanced teams and how people play this and that, however all i see is people demanding other people change so they can have a healer or such, hoping they have someone flexible on the team yet the people who know the correct team balance are unwilling to change themselves then moan about losing afterwards.
not only that not a single person ever protects the healer and people wonder why no one wants to play support classes.

i disagree mercy heals far better than any of the other healers and also adds damage buffs, the problem being is everyone wants to be a killer/healer it would make no sense to make the more oriented pure healer class to be the weakest healer.

I'll be on in a few hours and will be having a big session.

Anyone who wants a game feel free add me, i'll also be on the Unofficial OCUK Discord in the Overwatch channel if anyone wants to do comms.

Exactly this, a lot who moan about team comps generally won't be flexible enough to fit around the team.

Not aiming that at anyone here but you see it in a lot of games.

3 of us on here grouped up yesterday and we pretty much always ran a healer and a tank, no coincedence we won about 90% of our games.

That is the key to the game: Changing tactics if something isn't working. People who can't see this are really harming their team. I usually change class once per game depending on what is going on.

i will still moan even though i often end up playing Lucio, but from time to time i'd like to play something else instead of support ;)

Lucio will do 12.5 per sec healing to every person near you. When amp is active this is 40 per sec. Always amping this is 20 p/s to everyone in range. Mercy will do 50 p/s to one person at a time. She also can't boost damage when healing. It depends on team composition, how spread out people are, the map, defense or offense, etc., but largely they are just as good as each other at healing.

Shouldn't really be like that though. Lucio should be sitting between Zenyatta and Mercy in terms of healing capabilities but, in my opinion at least, currently isn't. Not arguing or anything, I respect your opinion, just wanted to state why I think they are pretty equal at the moment for healing :)

I'd just say play whatever you fancy really when you're tired of Lucio; guaranteed everyone else on the team isn't as thoughtful as you are or they'd be picking up support too. It's pretty annoying though, as even though I'd always play Lucio or Mercy anyway, I always sometimes just wait until the last pick to see if someone else picks one of them. 9/10 times they don't :( Instead it's mostly just Widowmaker/Hanzo/Genji/Reaper. Although starting to see a lot of Roadhog's recently which is cool.
