Overwatch

It also shows how many people are affected by the buiff in the middle of your screen.

The speed is obv handy for getting back from a wipe, or getting away from an ulti, also remember the E button amplifys the effects so an additional healing/speed buff.

One of my fave things with lucio is the alternate fire knockback, knocking enemies off the edge of a map is so satisfying :)

My favorite thing with lucio is one on one with mei and when she goes low health she iceblocks so I just stand there and wait and when she unblocks I knock her back dealing quite the dog and shooting her.. she's dead xD

Yeah, it's extremely handy, it has so many uses like knocking Mercy so her beam goes off, knocking people off the map, getting people off objectives, just causing a little havoc, saving your life from people like Mei, etc. Was playing him earlier and knocked 5 people sneaking around the corner on Lijiang Tower off the map :p

Just bought this game but I've yet to go in a online match as I don't want to come over like the complete "noob" I am :(

Any tips for a newbie?

Yeah I think that's what I'm not used to yet. His ult does no damage but massive knockback so you can never seem to kill anyone with it but it does tend to make people get the hell away from you. Seems more effective as a Defence hero than Tank tbh.

with winston your made to be a distrubtion

you knock everyone away while your team pushes the cart or caps the point.

that simple

Really starting to love Winston, becoming to my go-to character now when there's already a support playing when I join. He's just so much fun when you play aggressively and cause havoc.

Played him a bit in beta when we missed a tank but always stuck with the team, recently I've just been launching ahead, causing some havoc, maybe kill someone or at the very least keep them occupied then leap away. Even if you don't really have much of a use for his ultimate when it's up I tend to just pop it anyway and go nuts, the amount of people that just turn tail and run or freak out is hilarious :p

Focus on a few characters to start with and try to get the hang of them before casting your net too wide. Perhaps one from each category, offence, defence, tank and support so that you can switch depending on the map and team composition.

If you go into the Heroes Gallery and choose Hero Info you'll see a star rating for difficulty of that hero. This is usually a fair indicator.

As to what heroes are noob friendly, everyones experiences and opinions will differ, but I'd say you can't go wrong on most maps with Soldier 76. He has good damage, mobility and a heal. A little unglamorous compared to other heroes perhaps, but he gets the job done and is a good solid hero to learn the maps with.

When learning a new hero, try a few games of Play vs AI (co-op mode) first as you're less likely to run into toxicity if you're blundering about mashing the wrong buttons :)

Bought this yesterday and been having a blast playing Mercy. Loving it so far. I am having a technical issue though - when launching the game it sometimes screws up the resolution, so much so I have to quit, relaunch and it may sort itself out - sometimes it takes a couple of launches before it finally gets the correct resolution (1920x1200). Anyone else having this issue? Other games are working just fine.

I am running a Gigabyte 980ti with the latest nvidia drivers.

Anyone any ideas what can help?

I'm not having any issues like, also on a 980ti and the latest drivers. Are you sure it's the resolution and not the UI scaling? It has a scaling option for the UI which I think it set to "Automatic" by default, in case it's not the resolution messing up you could try setting that to a fixed value and also run the game in borderless window mode.

Cheers for the reply flibby, vincent I'll look into that later. I'm running fullscreen. Its very strange, the whole screen is either offset right or left, l just assumed it was resolution but I'll check what you suggested.

Quite tempted by this, looks fun!

On avberage, how long does a game last? I don't have a lot of time for gaming, is this fine to jump in for half an hour then bugger off again? Also, would prefer not to talk or hear anyone else in the game, or indeed life but can't get around the latter!

For me this is the perfect quick play game, i love it for that.

Games are fairly quick, as said you could probably play two in 30 mins. There is in game voice chat but I've only heard one person using it since the game was released. You can turn that off if you want ;)

Play with headphones then you can get around the latter!
