Overwatch

Having fun with this game. :D Takes me back to TF2 and unreal torment days.

Is good for quick plays, but there a fair bit to learn and given the way it looks you think it would be simple game. But it's not. Each hero has it skills to learn and if you take you eye of the game for a seconds you can lose very quickly. Like the chat sometimes between the heros at the start, nice touch that.

Over all a fun game to play. Love to see what Blizzard do with this, with maps and updates. Capture the flag type game would be good.

Had one game on Friday night. The escort was about 1/2 meters away from the end and dam we fought to death for it not to move. 5 min of carnage and not one Bastion! :p

Some heros are a love hate thing with me. Winston is cool, but had a game with 2 dam mad apes and they just well disrupted the whole team! Should have thrown bananas over the cliff! :p

Hanzo... well just a pain with that dragonstrike. Had some games where there was a dragonstrike every bloody 30 seconds.

Check out the Icy Veins guides also, they provide some good information with pros, cons, game play tips and how they match up to other heroes (in terms of counters).

Offensive Hero Guides
Defensive Hero Guides
Tank Hero Guides
Support Hero Guides

Good guides there. Never knew mercy had a pistol! Always try and melee someone to death if i get stuck (worked twice so far!)

Easy to pickup and hard to master.

Like all good games should be.

Been noticing over the last day or so quite often games being lost when one team have 2 of the same hero and for whatever reason the other team can't seem to deal with them (like 2x bastions, 2x tolbjorns etc.) At first I was thinking that's kind of broken and Blizz really need to impose no duplicate heroes but I'm not quite so convinced now - if the other team double-up on a particular hero then in theory your team should be able to stomp them using a hard-counter (if only you knew what the hard counter is!!!)

The game is all about counters.

I played in a team yesterday where for a laugh we chose 4 Tolbjorns and a healer.

We destroyed the opposition as they simply did nothin to counter. The next game we did the same but they altered their hero selection and pretty much wiped us often until we changed.

Yeah, I think it's one of the more common mistakes people make when playing (to be expected with new players though) is too not switch heroes during a game to counter the opposition when your current line up isn't working. That and doing a conga line death chain 1 by 1 into the other team after dying.

The constant feeding as the attackers is annoying, die, spawn then run solo back into a team of 5. Die, spawn and repeat.

Not sure how the arrival of this game passed me by, but tempted to pick it up, seems the sort of thing I'd enjoy.

I seem to have missed most of the good deals though and figure I may as well just grab the standard version direct from Blizzard. Am I right in thinking I'd just be missing out on a few skins or is there any other reason I need the original edition. I don't play any other Blizzard games these days so not bothered about the extras for other games.

just had the same. was against a team of 5 snipers, 2 hanzo's and 3 widows with a mercy to res then. so what did we do? we went ape on them XD 5 winstons and a reinhardt. lets see them keep us off the point with that comp XD

as revenge when it was our turn to defend we went with 5 tolbjorns and a lucio XD they had no reply and didn't even touch the fist point

If you get the standard edition, all you're missing out on are a handful of skins (which aren't particularly unique as everyone and their grandmother has them) and some extra fluff for other Blizzard games (which are only worth it if you play those games).

Most of the more interesting skins and stuff are earned in-game anyway.

Thanks, that's the answer I was hoping for. Purchased and downloading. :)

What's the matter with McRee?

Infuriating game I just had with 4 Soldier 76's, me as Pharah and 1x healer. I tried telling the Soldier 76 people to change but it fell on death ears.

Got annihilated.
