Overwatch

Dunno why they thought it was a good idea. It's not like you can jump into a game in progress and affect the balance of the current game. Therefore, the team skill rating shouldn't be really dynamic, but set at the start.

I'm done with Roadhog. Until they fix his ****ing hook so it actually pulls people properly I'm getting nothing but frustrated playing him.

honestly theres a counter for everything. you just need to know it. for example bastion is a cakewalk to a decent pharah or honzo

Except when they're behind a Reinhardt shield, or in a position where Pharah has to be airborne.

Just as many ways to counter the ways to counter him...

The current iteration of competitive is frustrating, but the 2 main issues have been talked about by the dev and they are working on resolutions.

If you're wondering, the 2 biggest issues is leavers in competitive. If someone leaves, it's harder to win 5v6 than most other games. That isn't the issue though - everyone gets punished if someone leaves. The winning team (team with no quitters, or even the team that manages to pull off a crazy 5v6 win) is penalized by getting much, much lower ranking points. Normally you go up or down by 50-75% of a rank, but if someone leaves then you only gain 10% of a rank if you win. Blizzard have already mentioned the other day they're working on the leaver problem.

The other issue is coin flip in the case of a draw. A coin is flipped to decide who gets to attack or defend in the final round. If you cap the first point, the attackers win. If you defend the first point, defenders win. The problem with this is the vast majority of maps heavily favour attackers for the first point. So if you roll the defense flip, you basically lose by RNG after a long hard fought tie. Blizzard have already said they're scrapping coin flip sudden death in season 2, but I imagine it will happen sooner with all the complaints.

Yeah I agree with all of this, they totally need to sort it..

I had a bit of a nightmare with my comp matches, I seeded at lvl 50, then went up to 58, then had a run of terrible games with leavers, problems, crashed to desktop once (that got marked as a loss, even though I rejoined and won....) - despite maintaining a K/D ratio of over 4, I slipped down to Rank 47 rofl... your rank is so heavily weighted to win/loss, rather than the CS system of trueskill, which means you get nailed if you end up with a run of bad teams - even if you end up being the MVP in the match

Aside from that I'm enjoying it.. to some extent... I just find the ultimate attacks are either way OP (Reaper) or total nonsense (Farah)

Symmetra right click will make bastion retreat in seconds even from behind reinhardt shield.

Not long ranked up to 25 and played a couple of placement matches, I really wasn't prepared for the rank up in terms of difficulty. It seems I still have a lot to learn.

Are you kidding? Bastions self heal is on par with Roadhogs for effectiveness. A single Symmetra won't do a thing. Plus its not like he can't just move slightly, assuming they even set up in a blatantly obvious place where the enemy can attack from safety.

There are ways to counter it, but none of them fast or reliable when you've got 4 other players to worry about. That and whenever I come up against this strategy my team is almost always full of idiots who don't play safely to drop the Reinhardts shield and kill Bastion before trying to push.

When he's healing he's not shooting so what's the issue? You've basically made 2 players on their team redundant just by right clicking as 1 hero, which you can safely do from a distance. Your goal isn't to kill the bastion, it's to disrupt him, and symmerta is a perfect way of doing that so he has to either move or heal. Reinhardt can't heal so unless they have a mercy (At which point you just take 2 Symmertas) it's not an issue at all.

I've been playing this pretty much solo for the past few weeks and thought i'd have a looksee if any OCUK'ers are playing, battletag: cogrady84#1395 feel free to add me
