Thanks everyone for the tips - I will try to take it onboard. I do genuinely find the game fun,but only bought it more recently.

Like Widow, a decent Hanzo can be a right pain to play against. Don't think I've ever struggled against a Sombra though tbh, which I guess is why she doesn't get picked much. If you're even half serious about comp, you should probably learn a different character tbh.

Genji is my ultimate nemesis. I am quite good as soldier but 1 on 1 Genji almost always smokes me. I think I'm level 67 now.
totally and utterly ruined by a utterly toxic community now.
This game had me loving it for so long, however, it's now just a trollfest of silly picks, stupid players, leavers etc. No one and I mean no one communicates via voice about picks/pushs/ulti combo's etc.
They need to increase the bans for leavers.
Such a shame as it's in my all time top 5 games. But it's now just got unbearable in comp.

Unfortunately there's even people in this thread that will tell you they do this through choice. Mind you, I've been solo queuing quite a bit recently and still don't find these toxic players that people talk about. I've had one or two idiots, but nothing too bad. I even got back up over 2,500 again a couple of nights ago. I guess I'm just lucky.

I don't use voice as it was full of bloody gimboid gits when I last used it,and tend to prefer to type stuff in comms TBF.

I played this game on the Free weekend and to be honest I didnt get it at all ! didnt feel like a team work game , just guns and shields , felt like a Free for all game, Maybe i need to find a team to play with to enjoy it ?

I bought Overwatch about 6 months ago and never really got into it. The group I usually play with didn't bother with it so I only play solo and it's not the same without your team mates.
Is it still a popular game?
I would try to get back into it but I don't have a great deal of time to sink into learning all the heroes and their quirks.

I would assume you played QP though, which tbh is kinda free for all. In comp I think it's massivly team based. If your team doesn't work together you're at a disadvantage.

You only need to learn 2 or 3. It's a terrific game.
I've just bought this game today but it seems to crash every game I have tired to play with "Your rendering device has been lost! Application Closing ....etc" and in the event log I can see "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I'm just getting annoyed with it at the moment. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Every other game I have seems to work without problems, and I know my O/C runs for hours on heavy stress testing and I used DDU to to install my drivers a few days ago. I'm not convinced the card is on the way as out as its perfectly fine in heavy testing. I've checked the temps and they are not going above 40c, so I can rule that out.
I've just made a registry tweak to adjust if the time out value on on the GPU driver, so I am going to test it out.
Edit: Just had 2/3 games without a crash, so maybe that tweak worked.

I get the same thing every time new nvidia drivers are released, even if Overwatch hasn't had an update, it's bizarre.
Started really enjoying this game again now doomfist is in it.
Finally a real dps I can play on my pad
I had sym for defence and mercy for healing and rein/monkey for tank but something was missing and doom fixed it.
Got 29 comp hours with him now.

Chat seems a lot better than it used to be but not sure if it's just that I'm playing in the day now instead of late night.
Yeah quick play is pretty much ffa when you are used to playing comp.
I can't play quick play I find it really boring.
You play Overwatch on PC, on a pad?
People on this forum all find that wierd but my real life friends all use pad on pc.
