I understand what you're saying, but at the same time, you're kinda saying 'people care in comp and that's annoying, people don't care in arcade and that's annoying...'
I am saying people shouldn't give grief to others in competitive, not that they shouldn't care. Even the idiotic griefers I won't throw abuse at even if they deserve it. If I play in competitive I aim to win,but I won't have a go at someone if we lose. The fact is unless you are like the top 1% in competitive there will be better teams you might encounter, but still try your best.
You aim to win, that is the whole point of being in a group. Its a group game.
Its like being in a football team and just fanning around doing eff all - do you honestly think the team or the supporters will be fine with it??
Trying your best is not sitting in spawn, just running around just outside spawn doing nothing,or farting around with one player way outside the objective whilst achieving nothing, meaning it ends up either being be a 6 vs 5 or 6 vs 4,etc match essentially.
If the game says escort the payload(for example),you have made a conscious decision to enter such a match and do the said objective.
If you don't want to win ON PURPOSE,then play against AI,make your own match or make your own group of six people with mates and agree you want to throw the match for fun. Don't be selfish. If you are playing online as part of a group you should care in ALL modes,as you drag down everyone by griefing,ie,just staying in spawn,or just outside spawn or just ****** around doing nothing. That is just done ON PURPOSE to lose the game without trying.
Maybe such people have endless amounts of time to eff around, which is good for them, but many people don't have gaming time growing on trees either,so its basically saying "la!la!la!la!" as long as I can grief and waste others time I don't care since I have loads of time to play this game anyway, and willing to spend £100s of pounds on loot boxes too.
