Overwatch

Picked it back up after a year or so.. a few new interesting characters, but my darling Sym has been nerfed big time!!

New sym is probably the worst character in the game right now by a fair margin. The new stuff they added like little tele and big shield are pretty cool but she sucks so hard in combat. They should have at least let her keep auto aim or projected shield.

At least they done right and released Brig around the same time the took away Symmetra from us.

Bought this towards end of last year and only played a little. Picked it back up a couple of weeks ago not played loads due to limited time (only LVL 22, so no ranked) but really enjoying it.

Seem to win more games than I lose despite not being organised with a team and normally being rubbish at this sort of game.

Love the naivety here....:D:D - Just kidding wait till you start with ranked.....Then the "fun" really begins....

I just had a brilliant last day on overwatch woke up early and had 9 straight wins solo que. I lost my 10th game and that's me done for the day.

Finishing the season at pretty decent 3300 up from 3100 when I woke up this morning.

good work - stuck in the 2500-2700SR hell hole at the moment - win 2, lose 1, win 1, lose 2 etc....

Yeah I played some in plat this season it can be hard to get out on your own as a healer.

I have found the easiest way to rank up is to team up and go as duo. After a win just invite the best dps player to your party and hopefully win a few in a row.

I still believe that DPS is the main issue at the 2500-3000 SR range. Good DPS win you games - Good support can not carry/win games.

Take today for instance.

Game 1 - 22.5k healing/45 elims - loss (me and Ana combined for 39k healing FFS!)
Game 2 - 23k healing/50 elims - just scrapped a win. (again 40k healing between me and Ana)
Game 3 - 12k healing -28 elims - loss real quick.

DPS was clearly the issue in all 3 games - just weren't killing/finishing off people properly. I got dogs abuse in the 1st game to switch to mercy despite that level of healing. 3rd round another DPS player moaning about wanting Mercy despite us having Moira/Ana.

Can't win sometimes with people.......

As a brig main my favourite to team up with is a reaper. If I see a good reaper in my match I invite them to duo with me.

I can chuck reaper armour every 6 seconds so he is going in with extra health and damage reduction allowing him to play very aggressive. Also Brig is amazing at killing squishy characters and reaper is amazing at killing tanks so they work really well together.

Me and Scott had some good games his reaper was destroying them all.

Also I used to really like going as a duo with me playing mercy and other guy playing hanzo. I would just damage boost all his shots and then damage boost his ult for some really quick kills.

But obviously mercy got nerfed a couple of times this season her damage boost no longer works on hanzo ult and her healing isnt as quick.

I don't really like mercy now. She isn't the great character she used to be.

Be prepared for "Brig isn't a healer" when you play her as one :D

The main problem with Brig is typically the player, not the hero. I'm pretty much dealing out armour as quick as I can when I use her, but often in gold other players are mainly focused on opponents.

I think brig is the best hero in the game right now.

Her armour is very powerful and you also have her passive healing as long as you remember to keep getting odd hits in to keep it online.

I think brig actually got better this season. I know brig actually got a nerf to her cooldown on shield bash but this doesn't really bother her too much, once in a while you will die to someone in your face just before your bash is ready but other than that the nerf doesn't really matter.

The changes to the other healers seem to have really helped brig, no longer does she have to compete with the crazy healing of mercy.

In comp brig works best with a 222 config but before sometimes healing would be lacking if it was just brig/lucio or brig/ana or brig/moira but now them characters have had a buff and along with the mercy nerfs going 222 with brig/moira or brig/ana or brig/lucio works great.

The only one brig can't really team up with now is zen. Unless pehaps you wanna do something like 2 tanks hanzo and brig zen mercy.

Also you got the comp now with dva rein zarya moira brig lucio. Which works amazing well when you rush point.

So she works in nearly any team now and the only real hard counter she has is phara and phara isn't really played much at the moment. Doom is also a pain against brig if no one killing him but other than that brig is pretty free to just do her thing.

I sometimes go look at tier lists and brig is always at the top.

I think this change to mercy (ref boosting hanzo's ult) is good for higher level play, as too many games were just waiting for famred Grav/Dragon/Boost combo's - which can get a bit stale to watch.

Yeah agreed after 3 months it was starting to get boring to play as well.

Most matches came down to who could build zarya ult the fastest.

I really like the new changes they made to the healers it has brought some balance back to the game.
