Didnt even know there was an alpha for the DLC ! How do you go about getting it?
There was a post on the klei forums with a signup page. I was alerted to it from the reddit sub for oni. Signed up only a few hours before the invites went out but still got in

What's the difficulty level like on this? Is it a bit stressful and frantic to play, or fairly laid back?
It can be both, laid back when everything is ticking along, stressful and frantic when things all go pear shaped

It does look like my kind of game, might give it a go
The first major feature is the multi-worlds. Instead of 1 big asteroid you now start on a smaller one and space is much easier to get to. You can have multiple colonies and jump between them instantly.
The new swamp biome is also quite interesting to deal with too..

Not recently. I tried it maybe a year ago and found it a bit overwhelming. I was really interested in playing it...
Yeh that seems to be the theme of what people are saying on forums. Think its gotta be played on the PC.

Day 1 purchase for me. Sunk a few hours into it. I am equal parts enjoying the new challenge and getting irritated by not knowing the perfect balance for things like we know already in the main game

Its very playable on the steam deck. The controls are a tad quirky and in places non-intuative if your trying to use the steam deck controls. (rather than mouse and kb).
It suffers from exactly the same amount of lag and slowdown you get on a PC as you play it more and develop a bigger more complex colony.
The game screen and the GUI is also quite cluttered, there is allot going on. Which doesn't lend itself to being a great deck experience.

not sure i'll pick this up, but glad to see its still getting content. i wasnt able to give the game a proper chance when i got it.
