OZONE 3D SOFT SHADOWS BENCH

dalin80 said:
just upt the FSB, improved performance on 3dmark tests (01,03,05,06) and aquamark but drop on ozone.

3.2 seems to be my cpu's limit on that multi though any more and much higher vcores are needed.

tbh more disappointed that SLi results in a lower score.

Interesting... see what happens if you up the multi more (can you do that?) and decrease the fsb.

New score;

Look's like this benchmark is finally being rendered properly with my new drivers, shadows also now work properly. An overclocked 2900 is going to do a hell of a lot better and a Crossfire system may wipe out Jokester's score ;)

Wow, thats's one heck of a jump.... and you can actually see the shadows too? I though they were sooo soft the naked eye couldn't detect them :p

May I ask what drivers you're now using, 7.8 Beta maybe??? ;), and does it improve openGL in general? i.e. Doom etc.

But a little more pricey than a lot of the setups here :D Pity i aint got the second Xeon in...

Interesting benchmark, I have been looking at Nvidia Quadro graphics cards for my Open GL CAD package at work. Though your £2000+ card performs on par with 8800GTX's :eek:

Where do these Quadro cards excell ?

So these drivers give such a performance jump in this bench, can we expect some some extra performance in games? or is it just down to the fact you have bumped up your CPU to 3.6ghz?

No I told ATi about the lack luster results with the 2900's they basically replied and told me the thing wasn't being rendered properly (shadows were missing and performance sucked basically) and as you can see my nagging paid off as the 2900 is now performing as it should be.

Never mind nagging em over some benchmark, get me some more performance in WIC and err.....fear, hl2, stalker, oblivion, BF2, ETQW and make it understood we want 60+ fps at ultra settings in crysis when its out. :p

Oh believe me the bechmark was only one of the many things I've nagged about :), what's wrong with fear performance it's great atm?. As for 60fps in Crysis at ultra I doubt it but they will be trying very hard as they know what is at steak.
