Parcel at a neighbour not answering door

I honestly cannot work out how you haven't drowned whilst brushing your teeth, the most menial day to day tasks have you creating threads on a computer forum asking for advise, if you aren't able to knock on someone's door to request the parcel they took in for you I'd suggest asking the healthcare assistant who dresses you in a morning if they wouldn't mind nipping round on your behalf.

In fairness to the OP they've been to the neighbour's house three times and left them a note.

I did 2 knocks each day and still nothing.

This is why I hate parcels being left with total strangers.

Go back round and knock again. If no answer, knock a little harder. If you still don't get an answer, knock even harder and gently knock at the windows. On the fourth attempt, knock quite hard at the door and knock again on the window, a little harder than before.

If they don't answer after those attempts, I'd assume they don't want to answer the door and call the police on 101 for advice on what could be a possible case of theft.

Perhaps they peeked through the curtains, saw it was the serial moaner from a few doors down and decided to ignore you.
I’m not a big moaner outside the forum and work. Customers make us colleagues moan. Especially the elderly who shop Saturday mornings and decide to say “ooh it’s busy”. Why shop then??

If you can hear somebody inside I'd do what somebody suggested and ring the Police saying you're concerned somebody is hurt in there.
It might take a week.

I think this is the interesting point of it all. The recipient would likely just be saying "Well, someone has handed this to me, how is it theft?". The delivery company will be saying "Well, we delivered it, we have a signature".

If you know they are home 100% then they have clearly stolen your item, hope its not expensive?

You have 2 options, contact the company you bought it from or contact the police

Go round in the evening when they have lights on. If they still don’t answer then assume they don’t want to open the door. Contact the seller who can they raise it with Royal Mail and then send you another order.
