Parking Nazi Neighbour.. I need to mess with him.. IDEAS?!

I'm ok with revenge stuff as long as it doesn't involve damaging a person's car/home/livelihood.

If you're going to do something like that (keying a car, smashing a house window, getting them fired etc) but don't have the balls to say/do something to them face to face, then you're a coward.

What if that person had damaged your car for absolutely no reason and then six months later you decided 'now is the time'?

If you are completely sure they damaged your property (reason or no reason) then you should be dealing with it face to face, not lowering yourself to their level.

The problem is, everyone finds it easy to say or do something to the detriment of someone else when they have a degree of anonymity or perceived safety of damaging property yet wouldn't do anything if the person was there.... If people want to act like that, go on, but don't try and justify it as a fair action nor take any kind of high ground.

Put the signs up, leave a car in the space, sign him up for crap - not an issue with that kind of thing but the other stuff I mention is just pathetic and cowardly and makes you no better than the person you enacted it on.

Interestingly, my car has been keyed once, when I parked on the street slightly higher up the road (not in the spaces discussed here) whilst I had landscape vehicles on the driveway.
I do not think it was Angry man, but I am not one for damaging other people's property, or doing anything illegal regardless.
Right now my thoughts are leaning toward just using the space for my own car on completion day, whilst removals are in, then just see how he reacts.
My real goal here is to simply prove that what he is doing is totally pointless, and free up these spaces for use going forward for the people who live in the street.

IF he's claiming the road is his and there's documentation saying it is. Presumably it's been maintained by the local highways agency.

Mock up a letter from them stating that they've checked records and have been inadvertantly maintaining the road that's his responsibility & now require payment for the costs, make it a figure in the 10s of thousands and then put he has 90 days to make payment before it goes to debt recovery...

100% them, witnessed by lots for zero reason - he thought I was somebody else.
He agreed to pay the damages and then told me to FO and threatened to cave my head in when I gave him the receipt two weeks later.
As far as I'm concerned revenge was sweet and zero regrets.

The real answer is, just move on and forget about it. Just because he is a moron doesn't mean you have to be.

If you really want to do something, park there and when he comes out, tell him you aren't moving it. Be firm. If you're not prepared to stand up to him face to face, that's not great, is it?

I hope im not the only one who sees the irony in the mardy ****** threatening to clamp cars parked there which in turn keeps the car parked there... which he doesnt want. I'm in the camp of buying a spares and repairs junker and parking it there. Even maybe angle grinding the clamp off (if he even has one, which i doubt he has) and handing it back to him.

So, TLDR - I have a neighbour who has put up signs outside his house saying no parking, and threatens people who park there. I want to mess with him (legally) as I am moving house soon, and have had enough of his nonsense.

Full story.

We have a neighbour, who we shall call "Angry Man". He lives across the street from me, and seems to spend most of his life trying to make other people's lives a misery in any way he can. He is frequently involved in boundary disputes (none with me!!), claims to own a shared walkway to many gardens. frequently shouts at people for daring to go near or on "his property". He has decided that he owns up to the centre line of the road (the deeds of the properties in this area all show this, mine included), and as such thinks he can enforce parking restrictions outside his house.

He even signed up to become a member of a parking enforcement company so he can issue "fines" to cars parked in that area. I am not sure if this is even a thing anymore, but it does show the lengths he will go to. I have seen many a car "ticketed" when left in the spaces.
The road is a fully adopted and council maintained road, not a private road or anything like that.

People have complained about his behaviour, and he has even been visited by the council (who actually parked in the disputed spaces, much to my hilarity) to explain that he is not allowed to clamp/fine people for parking there, but seemingly he just got all naked and loud at the guy who drew the short straw to visit, and I am not sure any real progress was made...

I have witnessed him harass everyone from estate agents, station parkers, and visitors to surrounding houses. Usually this is done shouting obscenities whilst in his pants and barefoot whilst wielding a wheel clamp, or some other threatening weapon/gestures. Mostly these people are so shocked by his approach they get out of the space pretty sharpish and go find somewhere else. His next door neighbour, who happens to be a mate of mine, had an estate agent around (he is moving partly because he is so fed up of his nonsense). After the visit, the agent was chased down the road by Angry Man, (with some clothes on this time, but not fully dressed) with questions like "are you a solicitor" "why were you visiting my neighbour" etc etc.
He first became touchy about parking (to my knowledge) when he installed a brick wall on his property line, which made access to his driveway very narrow. He was then unhappy as any car parked (legally) on the opposite side of the road made access to this drive-way difficult. I would often see one of his cars being revved and 20 point turned out of his driveway, as if trying to make a point loudly to anyone nearby how "inconsiderate" these parkers were...
He did actually climb down on this eventually, and knocked down a part of the wall to make access wider...
At one point he was actually parking his family vehicles there in an attempt to block anyone else parking there, but I think his Kids moved out (and took their cars with them) and this stopped soon enough.

ANYWAY..... Seeing as I am also moving out soon, and I wanted to see what I can do to prove his parking claims are ridiculous. I want to keep the idea of a face to face confrontation to a minimum, as my Wife is not keen on it escalating too far, at least until we are confirmed as out of here. Getting him caught in the act breaking the law (which I believe his threatening actions are) would be fantastic, but any way I can legally rubbish his claims anonymously is also top of my list :D

Some ideas so far:

Buy a banger, tax, insure and MOT it, park it there one night, and just leave it there for a year or so..
Paste "Free Parking" over his existing signs
Buy a caravan/trailer, and have it delivered to this spot, clamp it myself (for security!), and just leave it there.
Put up adverts in the village, or local paper/magazine exposing his nonsense, and that anyone can park there if they fancy telling him what's what

So, what say you OCUK... All ideas are being considered. Looks like I have until January to get any plans sorted, as that is when I move about 200 miles away.
Wow, what a nutcase he is.

I'm waiting in this cell because I have to know... have I been guilty all this time?

Good evening, Mods your honours
I will now plainly show the poster

Why'd he ever have to quote it?

Register his space(s) on one of those driveway parking schemes.

Install camera.

???

Profit

Or… let the new buyers know that the guy across the street is a lovely guy. Mention that he’s always letting people park outside his house which can be a godsend when space is precious. Hilarity ensues.

I haven't read the whole thread, so if this has already been suggested, then I love the fact there are people out there who think like me! :D

I would take the buy a banger plan one step further. Still buy one, register it to bogus details, and park it on his drive - hopefully blocking his own car in.

As it's on a driveway, it doesn't need to be taxed (sorn it) or MoT'd. Save you a few bob in the process.
