-----'PARVUM MATE'-----

Just a speedy update to say MATE is living! We had been waiting on a slightly longer PCIe riser cable to get the 980 up and running. The problems with the pump and coolant have also been somewhat mitigated by switching out the coolant for Mayhems X1.0 Blood Red. Whether its just better bled than before we aren't sure but the coolant is taking on far less air as it blasts around keeping the pump just a little quieter.

We have since installed an OS onto the HyperX and given everything a good thrashing with some benchmarks. The 980 underachieves very slightly which we put down to the riser but the loop is running very well holding CPU and GPU temps below 55°C while looping Valley. We will be taking it to a LAN this weekend so expect another little update :)

Just a couple of pics of MATE running in the daylight today, the coolant has settled down properly and is now looking nice and translucent. All that's left to complete is the side panels then it's off to final photos.

With winter insomnia closing in on us we found just a little time to add some finishing touches to MATE. It has been running quite happily for a few weeks since installing a longer PCIe riser and even attended it's first LAN. The only remaining task was to modify the side panels.

After not so gently removing the plastic frames which held the windows on either side we drilled four holes to screw the panels directly down to the Parvum CNC bed. While it's better equipped for machining sheet acrylic light work was made of the aluminium.

We chose to cut just a slim frame that covers the edges of the chassis while revealing the entirety of the internals. It also flows elegantly between the four corners of the case completing the exterior. Luckily they could still be easily attached with the original magnets.

MATE has also been out for a trip to Tom Barnes' studio for some insane quality photographs to conclude the build. Although it was strange to see somebody else take pictures of my MATE the phenomenal skills and kit will make an epic addition to the project log.

There are still a few more close up shots to get and lots of editing to be done but final photographs are well in progress!

Hey guys, the time has come! MATE is complete, JR23 said he had to borrow it for some 'research' but today he found the time to have a decent session taking some photographs. It's not exactly a conventional rig so that presented a few challenges, for now we have concentrated on the details. But with the addition of Tom Barnes two epic 3/4 shots it should give you all a full impression of what it's like in the flesh.

So bring on the GPU, Pump Top, Reservoir, Pass-Through full cover madness!

I hope you all enjoyed the project, we will return with some performance stats and setup photographs. Thanks for all of your support and kind comments along the way and special thanks to ASRock, EKWB, HyperX, nVidia, Silverstone, Mayhems, Tom Barnes and the rest of the Parvum Team.

See you all soon!

Damn guys, that block is ******* crazy! Mad amount of work to fit all that hardware into such a small case, but think the results speak for themselves. STUNNING. :D
