Pascal Titan-X Launch

So mine turned up yesterday out of the blue. I haven't done any benchmarking or overclocking for ages but thought I'd give it a go.

The Division:

Maxwell Titan X (no OC)

Ultra preset. Res set to 3440x1440 but the bench only seems to run at 2560x1440.

Avg: 47.1
Typ: 47.3

Pascal Titan X (out the box)

Avg: 71.6
Typ: 71.9

The core bounced around betweem 1620-1680 and I saw a 1590 as well.

I added 10 to the power limit and set the fan to 65% at 80c for the next lot of runs. I made sure the card seemed maxed temp wise before taking results. The card was a lot more stable clock wise: 1750-1771.

Avg: 74.3
Typ: 74.7

I then added a 150 overclock and got a solid 1936-1949. I upped the fan to 75% and the card stayed at 81c.

Avg: 78.1
Typ: 78.4

I'm used to the Titan fan so 75% wasn't so bad although I much preferred it below 70. I might try Metro next.

Why? Its not putting people off buying them, they are sold out in the US. More profit.

Let's celebrate the worst of nVidia's greed and anti-consumer practices.

Hooray! Hooray!

This place is so weird, with people openly asking to be bent over and milked for all they're worth. It's a kind of weird online abusing relationship/ masochism.

People want to have the **** taken out of them.

If I'm not Overclocking this is it still worth getting? I really want to get one and build a new PC with it but I'm scared of water cooling it :(

Maxwell Titan boxed up now sorry.

Metro at 3440x1440, very high, SSAA off, AF 16X, Tess Very High, Motion Blur off, PhysX on. Did a number of runs looped to get the temp up. These results are from the last run.

Maxwell Titan X (no oc):

Avg: 52.3
Min: 10.79

Pascal Titan X

Stock:

Avg: 76.4
Min: 21.54

Clocks all over the shop. 1518-1759. Maxed out the temp limit.

Adding 10 to power and fan profile:

Avg: 79.41
Min: 25.13

Fan profile and power stabilizes clocks nicely. 1733-1784 (there was one frame at 1695).

OC +150:

Avg: 81.2
Min: 25

The clocks faffed around a bit on this one. Mostly over 1900 but it would drop to 1850 even with temps maxing at 77c. The Maxwell results were done yesterday.

I have some anecdotal Witcher 3 results from Maxwell. Will try that next.

Oh i'm not condoning it, I think its appalling esp on a premium product.

I think the issue you seem to have with how people spend their money is even weirder in all honesty.

I've been saving up since the last Titan and this has come along, I had the money, it's the fastest GPU, I'm gaming at 3440x1440.

It's expensive for a GPU and maybe Nvidia are taking the **fully star swearies** but at my age I have nothing else to spend my money on until grand children come along.

Sitting here with it and the gains I have from the Maxwell I feel neither abused nor milked. I'm just enjoying it.

^^ Tbh I was going too ignore his trolling post, but I'm betting he smokes 20 a day.

Maybe if he'd stuck to his goal from the thread he made in GD last year about his road to 50k in 5 years he wouldn't find the TX that expensive in the grand scheme of things.

It's the same old story every time one of these cards is released now, mindless bashing from people who predominantly do nothing to better themselves.

Some rough Witcher 3 numbers. Ultra preset no hair works.

Maxwell Titan X (stock):

52-59fps

Pascal Titan X:

Stock:

80-92fps

1569-1657 clocks - temp limit reached

Power +10 and fan profile:

83-98fps

1771-1784 clocks

OC - power +10 - fan profile

85-101

1889-1923 clocks

Bit rough this one but was nice to hit 100fps on my X34.

either get a waterblock on it or use headphones and crank the fan to 100% :p

The Witcher 3 is why I upgraded.. on 1440p with max details my 980ti was huffing and puffing.

This should hopefully make my experience of the DLC much better. Thanks for the bench marks.

And Grats to Greebo on purchase :)

Ohhhh it's him is it LMFAO, thats made my day and my TXp hasn't even turned up yet. Bet he doesn't post in here again after that pwnage.

I don't care how much people spend on halo/top end products. Thankfully it doesn't affect pricing of the mid and low-end cards I normally buy. Go right ahead, I'm not even suggesting you shouldn't.

So I'm afraid my comment was taken the wrong way.

Far from telling people what they should spend their money on... the only reason I posted in this thread was because it looked like Greebo was celebrating nVidia using a cheap cooler, because it was better for their profits.

Also, "pwnage"? Sorry, I'm not 12.

e: to spell it out a bit more for you, I'm concerned that there are so many people who seem to revel in nVidia's milking/profit margins; the more nVidia cuts corners, and sells lower-end chips at high-end prices, the happier they seem to be. Which is why I posted that some people seem to be glad about being "milked".

I have a custom loop, if I was not I would get a nice custom 1080 or wait for the 1080ti. There are some really nice 1080 custom cards for air users.

This card does not look awesome for air coolers but as the previous posters indicate you can get some great perf.

Me either but your comment could only be taken one way and I wasn't the only one therefore I thought I would talk in your language so you would understand ;)

Well apparently yourself and others managed to take it the wrong way. Again, I absolutely don't care how much you spend on your next GFX card, or if you buy a TX.

I understand that some things are expensive because of their quality and performance being better than anything else.

I find it weird that people would celebrate cutting corners and using cheap components on expensive, high end gear. Surely if you pay that much you want quality. You want the best.

Never mind anyhow, I don't belong in this thread. It's not a product that interests me :)
