Pascal Titan-X Launch

It is literally killing me. I have a ton of excuses why I shouldn't buy one but a moment of weakness and it will be bought. It was the cooler that put me off with the old TX and this is the main reason I am holding off and the fact I am no longer custom water cooled but I will see how the dust settles and make my mind up then. Mrs has told me I can get one as well, which isn't helping things lol :D

It looks a mighty impressive card but the custom cooled 1080ti is where the smart money is going to go, you know it makes sense

exactly this although I am very impressed with the performance of this card sadly even when the original kepler Titan launched at £830 this is nearly £300 more expensive and I can't in good conscience blow £1100 on a single gpu that has been crippled knowing full well something faster will be coming out soon

He'll have one on order by the weekend, he's on the internet right now looking at pictures of them on google setting them as his desktop.

I thought I was bad with my 420,360,280,240 and 140 rads. I went for one loop this time, had two last time. Too much effort.

What's you mobo? Seen lots of boards having issues with memory over 3000 even if the claim they support them

Using a Rampage V Edition 10 with Corsair Dominator...sad panda. I have a mate (DrWeez) that does the Asus events with 8pack, hopefully he can help me because I am sure it is my own retardness and not the hardware's fault. If you guys have any ideas I am all ears!

So mine turned up yesterday out of the blue. I haven't done any benchmarking or overclocking for ages but thought I'd give it a go.

The Division:

Maxwell Titan X (no OC)

Ultra preset. Res set to 3440x1440 but the bench only seems to run at 2560x1440.

Avg: 47.1
Typ: 47.3

Pascal Titan X (out the box)

Avg: 71.6
Typ: 71.9

The core bounced around betweem 1620-1680 and I saw a 1590 as well.

I added 10 to the power limit and set the fan to 65% at 80c for the next lot of runs. I made sure the card seemed maxed temp wise before taking results. The card was a lot more stable clock wise: 1750-1771.

Avg: 74.3
Typ: 74.7

I then added a 150 overclock and got a solid 1936-1949. I upped the fan to 75% and the card stayed at 81c.

Avg: 78.1
Typ: 78.4

I'm used to the Titan fan so 75% wasn't so bad although I much preferred it below 70. I might try Metro next.

Impressive, but would love to see the numbers for the 1080 against this.

Faster than a Fury Duo and cheaper and none of the headaches of mGPU.... I gotta stop looking at this card lol. Must resist.

Just stop faffing about and place the order. Sell your 1080 for £250, I'll take it of your hands as it will save you having to listen to those "cheeky offers" in the mm
:D

If it helps you to decide m8, the new Titan cooler is much better than the old one. I had the 980Ti reference and it was horrible, the 1080 one is much *much* better

Do iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!

/arnie off :p

As an aside, I *think* I'm gonna go for 1080 SLi. More cores for the money and am hoping SLi in DX12 is going to be much better....

1100 quid to play games that have been out for months /years seems totally insane to me. I like to have a decent enough Pc. (I have 5820k, gtx 980) but I can't get my head around 1k+ for a hand full of games.

I know I kept telling myself that but kept my old cards for three years and might keep this one that long.

I've had a 4K screen for a year and fed up having to turn settings down.

Bf1 is on pre order as well and wanted to play that in all its glory.

Got witcher 3, tomb raider and doom to play through before then though.

Normally I buy smart, the 290x were only £400 for the pair with blocks from memory. My 7970 was £299 prior to that. But thought I'd treat myself for once.

One of your user reviews would be nice too.:)
