Pascal Titan-X Launch

You're gonna be chasing upgrades for a while if you're looking for good frame rates at 4k tbh.

Nah look at the overclock results. Every game bar one, all on ultras averages more than 60Fps.

Okay mins going to be less but it's prob 50% more than perfect xfire on my current cards and three times the fps when xfire doesn't work

exactly this, this titan once overclocked is a monster and 4k is finally a reality on a single GPU ultra/very high at worst. bring out a card with all 3840 cuda cores already nvidia :D

I know I kept telling myself that but kept my old cards for three years and might keep this one that long.

I've had a 4K screen for a year and fed up having to turn settings down.

Bf1 is on pre order as well and wanted to play that in all its glory.

Got witcher 3, tomb raider and doom to play through before then though.

Normally I buy smart, the 290x were only £400 for the pair with blocks from memory. My 7970 was £299 prior to that. But thought I'd treat myself for once.

Doom I ran at a solid 60fps on a 3440x1440 screen, cranked up to max on my old 980GTX. That game runs amazingly well on just about anything I've seen so far. Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider, now that will be interesting.

Well on 4K, everything onultra an 1.95ghz Titan gets 111fps on doom, 74 on tomb raider and 56 on witcher 3.

Will be even more at your res.

Yeah those benchmarks seem pretty legit, consistent with what I'm getting

Thing is I bought this for UHD telly but when the block arrives I can see me sticking it in the main and making do with the 1080 in the HTPC, or maybe SLI the 1080 ?

Does the witcher have good SLI scaling?

Awesome scaling apparently up to 90%

Greg I lasted two days......do it, sell your other cards and they would pay for it ;)

we have been here before though. I would feel a lot better buying into Titan if I knew where little vega and the 1080ti are.

I had a good think about junking my quad 980 sandy bridge rig but zen and vega are too close now so I am happy to sit on the sidelines for now as the sun is shining. once the dark nights arrive my resolve might buckle.

if you can hold on Late January will be the time to decide when and how to upgrade.

as it stands it's £4800 for the gpus and £2000 for the cpu and mb plus around £900 to the boys in Slovenia. it's too big a risk.

Oh i know and there probably will be a 1080ti by January with hbm2 and even maybe another titan x with 16gb hbm2 by January.

The 1080ti will probably be as fast as this titan but cheaper and the new titan will be faster still and same price.

But fed up waiting. Was waiting two months for my 1080s to arrive and both still sealed in their boxes.

4 or 5 months is a long time to wait when you are gaming on 290x :P

That cooler is really what is stopping me. Not sure I want to or am prepared for the noise those ref coolers make and looks like they need to be running fast to keep cool. I am going to hold off for now and hopefully don't do anything silly in the meantime. I quite fancy a 1080Ti and they will be coming, so I am pretty set on one of those this time.

Get one of the jungle and review it for youtube, return it due to crap cooler.

Edit, nvidia only sell em, scrub that then.
