Pascal Titan-X Launch

On auto fan under the GPU sensor tab in GPU-Z with the stock Titan X cooler "Thrm" is constantly the bottleneck for higher sustained boost clocks. New Titan X P owners have to run the fan at 70%+ leaf blower mode to stop the junk cooler throttling their overclocks. Not really acceptable for the money paid but these cards really deserve water. Concerning how pretty the poor performance cooler is, put it this way, I wouldn't care if the card looked like the clown edition 1080 if it could hold under 60c all the time like an AIO. Silent blistering performance > Throttling and pretty.

Yeh the stock cooler is really terrible for a 250w TDP hot running card, Nvidia really need to stop using these coolers, the problem with the TXP is that you can add another 100-350 onto the already massive MSRP just so it is cooled properly. So for example TXP + AIO cooler = 1200-1500 GBP... this makes a 1080 that already has a good cooler at 600 look like good value. For 1100GBP it should really have a 2/3 fan cooler or an AIO.

That cooler is really what is stopping me. Not sure I want to or am prepared for the noise those ref coolers make and looks like they need to be running fast to keep cool. I am going to hold off for now and hopefully don't do anything silly in the meantime. I quite fancy a 1080Ti and they will be coming, so I am pretty set on one of those this time.

First time I have been CPU bottlenecked on a single GPU @1080p in this.

Are you weakening yet, they are fantastic gaming cards.:D

I'm sure he is kaap, think he's trying to avoid all TX threads :D

I know I am starting to myself ;)

They are brutal cards, this is what the 1080 should have been. I was genuinely shocked when I saw the Thief bench results.

And to get CPU bottlenecked with 1 GPU on Valley is awesome.

If I had a fast enough CPU I could have scored over 8000 with a single PT @1080p on valley.

Isn't that bad though considering Valley isn't even CPU intensive?

thinking of dropping my 980ti sli and going for a single card, think its worth the jump?
