Path of Exile 2

yeah this is looking huge for an EA, so many classes to try
Yea' I can't believe the infinite mapping thing, that looks insane. The classes are mental, I was a bit disappointed in the warrior type class, think I'm going to go merc for my first char.

Looks great. Can't wait to dive in, but I really hope the new player onboarding is better than PoE1. Plus, the end-game looks huge, but also massively complex.

Yea' they did mention the new player experience, I really like that it saves your spot during the campaign when you logout, I also really like that you can tick recommended skill gems for the support gems which I think is awesome. I'm not really sure how new player friendly a 1,500 + skill tree can be though haha.

My thoughts:

Gameplay looks awesome, but nothing new there we haven't seen before.

Crafting is looking very positive. More basic currency drops so you can craft a lot more useful items as you progress. Also essences now add a specific mod type rather than randomise the whole item. Great direction, purists will seethe but who cares.

Ascendancy trials. Well im not keen on Sanctum nor Ultimatum so jury is out on this one. For ulti my silver lining is you're not bound to a small circle.

Ascendancies all look great. I a have desire to play all 12. The witch demon form piqued my interest. just hope it's not a d3 archon ripoff.

Atlas tree. Not sure, looks light compared to poe1 but maybe because not all endgame systems are in yet. I like the boss killer branch. They've taken a player created play style and leaned right into it.

Atlas. Immediate reaction is it looks like Last Epochs system, which I'm not keen on. I prefer a well defined play area so the Delve style infinite map doesn't gel. Also how to target your fav map e.g. Dunes / Toxic Sewer / Jungle Valley etc. Jury out on that too.

Overall i'm looking forward to it, cautiously optimistic. I think the gameplay style looks fun but I worry about the combos becoming a chore, and a desire for 1 click builds kicks in.
What it really lacked for me was some kind of unique endgame mechanic away from Beach, Ritual, etc. But I appreciate thats asking a lot for all the rest of the new features.

Roll on the 6th.

great reveal last night.
re trials, i'm not keen on sanctum myself. however, i suspect sanctum will feel very different in poe2 with the wasd movement / dodge roll / etc. and i suspect much less projectile spamming in general, this should make the "try not to get hit" slightly easier.
if not i'll just ascend in the ultimatum trial every time :p

Some laugh out loud comments relating to the Oasis vs Blur scenario with PoE vs Diablo:

Yea' blows my mind Rod Fergusson throwing share, like if your game was good, if you were pushing the boundaries and making good content and evolving, then sure throw some shade but I don't think he's got a leg to stand on really.

I have effectively spent 1000's in terms of the dollar value. But all through a mate with a russian bank account, so about 2/5 that amount :D

Fully expecting to be given a key for free when they do the checks in a couple of weeks, but also really happy to throw money at them. They deserve it. However, the new packs are not tickling my fancy at all, so it won't be as much as I was intending.

Also if anyone is bored and in need of some drama, 4chan random claiming to be a GGG employee has been spouting some interesting takes that I hope are all bs:

you lose braincells reading 4chan - what a cesspit

I'll take your word for it. I'm just a messenger passing on a topic of conversation that's happening in the PoE community.

It’s more to be wary of 4chan. It’s famous for people going in there on anonymous accounts to basically **** stir by making things up.

But turn it always ends up on Reddit / YouTube from there, it’s weird what people will run with.

I want to buy a supporter pack, thinking about the 2nd tier so I can have 600 points to work with, are they enough for the essential stash tabs + whatever else is needed? I think I already have 4 premium stash tabs, but nothing else.
