Path of Exile(diablo clone)

Yeah it does

It uses CWDT with Steelskin
Uses Vaal Grace aura
Explains that resistances are important inc Chaos (suggested at least 0% res and 75% for the main damage types) which was why I was personally dieing with -65 chaos res.
Recommends Freeze, Bleed and Curse immunity on flasks.

You've made some valid and great points but how come you didn't see any of this explained in the build guide I've followed?

I had mana and low health problems early on but I didn't have Enlighten levelled up until much later and my hp is now over 5.5k (was 3.7k)

He does you are right however steel skin and Vaal grace alone are not enough. I would highly recommend looking into using endurance charges, physical damage mitigation is very important.
Lastly what is your total evasion?

Is it high? Does it reach 10k+ values if not the only use of Vaal grace is for the Vaal
Portion of the skill. 2.2k at level 20 evasion is rather low rated in terms of mitigation. When combined with a jade flask and some evasion gear it can be good however, I feel you would be better served with direct damage mitigation’s that require less mana reservation like flesh and stone. Description in what this does is in my above posts.

I think with a carcass/grace you will be around 3k evasion to 3.3 minus any on tree, with a jade flask you could get close to 10k at which point it really starts to feel good.

The above isn’t necessarily directed toward you but just some points about the guide and in general.

Without any buffs/aura's or flasks it's just under 5k. I was reading a Sirus guide from a different YouTube guide that suggested a min 30% chance to dodge which I exceed without any buffs or flasks. Is that good/bad/average? TBH I often forget to use Vaal Grace since spamming flasks and dropping totems and leaping whilst watching what's going on in a boss fight I'm new to is crazy

Losing the will to carry on a little now, I've been running into really bad lag spikes over the last few nights that have resulted in me either freezing up for an eternity and eventually dying (feels like all my potion effects are turned off when it happens), or I'm just kicked from the game randomly only to re-join and find that I've died. I was literally at 98% to level 97 and got a big spike and died > 88%> went back into the map and immediately had another spike>78%> came back the next night to run an uber elder and about 10 seconds into the fight got kicked>68% and all portals lost too just to rub it in, probably the most infuriated I've been with a game for some time.

The exp penalty has been preventing me from taking further risks, I'm in the mentality that I need to reach level 100 before I can enjoy my freedom and explore things.

Never consider 100 your end point. Any passives past about 95 shouldn't be important enough to really need it

The last five levels are like the entire game up to that point in terms of time. Sometimes longer if you are slow.

Regarding your last question if you are around 5.5 before flasks then a jade flask should take you above 10+k. That should be okay provided you have other mitigation’s. 30% dodge is okay but can always be better you may struggle
With bit hits in late red tier maps and more juiced content. Maxing out doge is tough but with high enough evasion and dodge with other mitigation’s/leech it will feel strong.

It's currently a hard mentality to break, although I'm soon to hit 95 and don't know the exp req for the last 5 yet.

switched some things around and while i still dont have the best rolls its a big improvment
almost 5.6k life and 11% chaos res

ive taken a hit to dps but not too much so ill see how things go

Quick question, if you've got bow build, and a choiec of two bows, with very little diff in DPS - Bow 1 slightly higher DPS, Bow 2 lower but within a few %, BUT has "Arrows pierce an additional target" is that extra target pierced counted within DPS? and even if it isn't is the 2nd bow still better?

Might as well go for two while i'm here.

I've got a cold damage focussed build with Ice Shot, again a choice of two bows minimal diff in DPS, Bow 1's got slightly higher DPS, but it's heavily weighted to Phys damage, Bow 2 slightly lower DPS but that's heavily weighted to Cold damage, which is better?

(In both cases imagine that all other factors like res's, and movement speed etc are all equal)

I suppose what i'm asking in general terms is, is DPS the be all and end all.

depends really, if you're build is focusing on chain then the pierce bow is no good. if you focus more on pierce then go for bow 2.
then DPS of the bow depends again. some people prefer higher APS as compared to actual hit dmg, while both may have the same DPS.

I had a productive day yesterday.

Someone from chat gave me the hideouts from Arcade and Moon Temple
Reached level 95
Killed Oshabi in the grove
Got my first Sirus kill with only 1 death
Someone in chat also gave me a boss kill in Delve

Quite pleased with that!

am i the only one that plays with the chat off? lol anytime ive switched it on its always toxic people arguing about something silly

It's just like any online public gaming community. I've got a few hideouts given to me, helpful advice, met some people I added to friends and gotten some random bits and pieces from boss kills to random maps people didn't need. It can be toxic occasionally which I don't engage in and carry on with whatever I'm doing in game.

well my first ever attempt at sirus didnt go as planned.. was going great until the last phase then the dying started
after my third death i just kept making silly mistakes until i had no more tries lol

oh well.. do i have to kill the conquerors multiple times again now? or just 1?

You got to kill them again, at a much slower pace since you need to do up to 10 maps to spawn the actual encounter. Regardless of your death you need to do it anyway to get the watchstones.

Yeah Sirus feels a little bit broken to me, if you die and go back in for example he can DIE beam you well off the screen when you're surrounded by the back circles as you make your way back to the arena. They should patch it so after a death the first thing he doesn't do is that DIE beam.

With the last phase it's almost like watch where I teleport and look for the glowing Sirus to spot the real one, otherwise again, that DIE beam is going to get you. Great fight though, really enjoyed it.

Sirus is designed in such a way that if you die once your chances of dying on the next portal shoot up.

I guess that makes things easier for me in Hardcore XD as my chances of dying stay the same after I die :D:D:D.

One thing i hate about delirium maps is that you have to back track through the whole thing picking up loot lol.
