Path of Exile(diablo clone)

Reddit going to town on the proposed harvest crafting changes.

People actually pay attention to reddit? It's nothing but a bunch a whiny cringe lords with nothing better to do than be a keyboard warrior all day.
I dont actively read it myself, but the volume of memes it produces is phenomenal. not just for PoE, but across the board.

Yes, GGG do. They pay more attention to it than their own forums.
r/PathOfExile pretty much dictates the direction the game is going in

what? Have you seen Reddit this last week? If Reddit dictates change then their doing a terrible job of it.
I don't look at the PoE reddit when I'm not actively playing the game, but in the past its pretty much been the primary source of information on what the players want for GGG

The visual clutter is an issue.
The loot table is an issue.
The random crafting for rich people is an issue.
The 4 month league design is an issue.

As far the game offers a fun experience in a new league for a week or two.
GGG stated poe2 will have a fixed crafting and loot table and loot drop and maybe some adjust for visual clutter.
Not really feeling that is going to be good enough.

Diablo4 may be simply to good

Last Epoch has a pretty good crafting system, leagues are 3 months not 4. The lack of competition is the issue, no other game comes close to PoE currently. I even doubt D4 will, PoE and PoE2 will just offer so much more content than D4 and the depth in PoE will be far higher than D4 looking at current systems.

My biggest issue is the copious amount of overpriced MTX. For the price they're asking I would expect a dozen of armor sets.

MTX isn't a requirement though, its optional, you don't need it.

Now stash tabs etc those are needed and the bare minimum to get started once you approach the end game systems is around £40 or $60 to get the required tabs. That's a fair enough price to pay imho, about the same cost of the box price for most games you'd pay for, and if your buying supporter packs for that $60 you often get some pretty nice MTX with it.

Playing games is not a requirement either it's all about having fun and your character looking cool on an ARPG is very important to most people.

Sure I can sort of see that as a possible requirement, but as mentioned in the previous post RE visual clutter.

You can't see **** anyway so why bother making your character look all flashy, unless you like spending time in town showing off how awesome your character looks, which in reality is just a "hey look at me, I spent lots of money on my digital pixels"

1 supporter pack with an amour set and you're done. It's a case of not-looking-**** rather than looking great.

That said I've spunked far too much money on mtx so I don't exactly practice what I preach. GGG are very clever in this regard. I baulk at the cost of some items ($80 for example, nope) but I don't see any point in moaning about it. Kudos to them for hooking us.

I am not holding my breath for competitors any time soon. They cannot release with the same volume of endgame content as PoE. Look at the sorry state of Wolcen. The endgame is a hollow grindfest. Blizzard may have the manpower but they are too meticulous and anal in their polish to focus on quantity as well as quality.

I think POEs free to play model is one of, if not the best there is. I been playing since beta and have bought some stash tabs over the years, but I only bought minimal and probably have quite a small amount compare to some. Just enough for what I need, no extra. There are some expensive supporter packs etc but personally have never bought any of that, or cosmetics really. I do buy 2 or 3 of the surprise chests very occasionally, but that is only because I feel they deserve support for all the content they give for free over the years.

Oh and D4 is going to be nowhere near as good lol (biased opinion but I do play both :p)

The thing with MTX is that is how they make money, without that they would have to charge you to play the game either with a one-off price or a subscription
if its between being forced to buy the game or maybe/possibly spending money on convenience/cosmetic items.. well i know which i prefer lol

ive bought stash tabs in the past and probably spent £30-40 total, never bought cosmetic stuff
over the years ive played 400+ hours of the game so i got my moneys worth and then some

plus if you complete the league challenges you can unlock flashy stuff for free

1200 hours played in POE, I have spent $105 in that time, mostly on stash tabs. Pretty good value imo. :)

Standard league stash tabs are a bloody mess after all this time! :p

Diablo4 may be simply to good

Most people will agree that Diablo doesn't have the weaknesses that PoE has. But many will agree that Diablo's end game is absolute crap. You can literally finish a season under 20hrs from start to finish. Ladder pushing by farming Paragon and Primals is very boring.

Can't knock POE's MTX and stash tabs system IMO, although I haven't spent a penny in the game. That said you can easily get to mapping without stash tabs, and then see whether you want to play seriously long-term, or be happy with the fun you've already had for free and move on.
