Path of Exile(diablo clone)

just roll a marauder get up to the quest reward once you hit cavern of anger and you'll get a life on hit, that's what i did anyways :p

Good idea!

I play as marauder (level 30) and have 3-4 Life on Hit gems purely from quests/drops.

They aren't that uncommon seemingly.

/edit

Also, any of you guys using voice-comms / playing together? Can be a lonely affair, and pugs are sometimes a little unreliable :)

i'm currently lvl 67 finished act 3 merciless yesterday and i've only seen 1 life gain on hit gem drop so far, guess i'm just unlucky :p

as for voice comms i always use them when playing with friends it's just easier that way :)

You could prob get one in trade for a couple alch orbs

Thanks for the replies - I was aware of the Marauder trick but seems more effort than running higher level quests for XP whilst getting some orbs and trading them.....

Look at the 'quest rewards' page on the path of exile wiki. Tells you everything you need to know about when items first appear as reward options which gives you a good idea of how much they will be to buy from other players.

Life on Hit you should be able to buy for 1 Alchemy as its quite an early game quest reward for a Marauder. Life Leech I know turns up in the Shadow section early on in Cruel (I was considering buying 1 for my Shadow before I realised I'd be getting 1 soon anyway) but they would probably cost you 2 Alchemy/1 Chaos.

Thanks for this info. I will ask in /Trade for these items at these prices. :D

Never played something like this before, after a couple of minutes working out why WASD did next to nowt, I enjoyed it. Got onto the first 2-3 'levels' but could not find the medicine chest on the flats.

I'm still a bit wtf? with the inventory system, I don't like the map at all, but it is fun to play.

tip the medicine chest isn't in the mud flats :p

How does that help? it just tells me what the quest is.

The medicine chest is held by "Hailrake", a mini boss in the area "Tidal Island".

If you take the waypoint in mud flats and go back through terraces you'll find the entrance to tidal island quicker.

Make sure you take a couple of cold resists rings though, hailrake hurts a lot.

Does it not show the location on the quest map? Thought it did.

Having a laugh with my summoner witch doing some coop. Friend is playing an Ice Witch while I focus on Summons + Curses. Got the 'Curses never expire' and 'Can affect enemies with 2 curses' nodes so I can send around some Frostbite + Temporal Chains curses (the Temporal effect slows down the timer on Freeze too which makes it last longer I believe) so bosses are getting seriously screwed over by very strong freeze effects. Only slight downside is occasionally we shatter all the enemies when I needed some corpses :p It never fails to look cool though when Ice Nova crits and shatters everything in an expanding circle.

Is there any way of rotating the camera around the player to give a better view of the land when playing.

sadly no :(
wish they upped the resolution a bit, because when you are walking down you literally don't see the mobs until they hit you in the face :p

I am pretty sure they did this for two reasons. First to ensure an even playing field so those with higher resolutions don't have an advantage. And second since otherwise ranged would be even more of an advantage than it already is.

Would have still loved a bit more of the playing area shown on the screen though :(

:( yeah shame that you can't alter the camera.

I gotta admit the only thing im not liking is the crappy mini map........who thought of that great design :(

Blizzard...years ago :P

It is definitely a hybrid of old fashioned mechanics with a more informed skill/progression system. I love it :)

Made it to Cruel last night, steps things up a bit! Definitely more aware of my vulnerabilities :P
