he got the bow for nothing, that's why he's giving it away for free :p

i have yet to actually trade anything in the game, i just seem to give stuff away for free lol

Well I certainly wouldn't say no to spare Scrolls of Wisdom :p

Will probably be on at some point this evening. Whisper 'Trapsonist', though I'll need to figure out where I put it first. Whats your IGN?

Its Elgoria, il write yours down an whisper you later :) an yeah you can still have the scroll's :)

Its good to see a community helping others as the in game community is totally different.

Well Dr Volki/Evilsod if theres any items that your roles require let me know an il deffo put em one side for you both.

Maybe we should start a trade thread or gifting thread for Ocuk members.

If you think its odd now wait till you start trading with randoms in game. it's ridiculous there all asking for Chaos orbs even for low rare's.

The only thing i don't like is how every small item builds in to a needed orb, as its got micro-transactions they should add a couple of harder to get orbs.

Really shouldn't be costing more than 1 Alchemy for most low level gear unless its seriously good. Weapons could do if they're really strong for there level but I'd be surprised if armour would.

Rings/Amulets are good to pick up for 1-2Alch. Usually come across the odd trader with a crapload of them to sell so you can pick up some quite good ones for 1 Alchemy, maybe 1 Chaos if they're really good. Can be quite a good way to boost your survivability on Cruel with a few good resistance items.

The devs have a strong policy of not using microtransactions as a way of correcting a deliberate unbalancing of the game in order to get more money out of players. That's the usual dishonesty of "free to play" games, which are in effect more expensive than honestly sold games.

In any case, there are orbs that can't be obtained from items. The higher orbs can't be bought from vendors (that only goes as high as orbs of alchemy). Recipes for orbs have been made so impractical that they are effectively broken, e.g. you would need several thousand rare items to have an even chance of having three with the same name, and that would only get you an orb of alchemy anyway. Or how about a regal orb - a full set of rare equipment of level 75 or higher. Level 75 maps are not at all common and are extremely hard even for the highest level players. Some higher orbs don't have a vendor recipe at all.

So it's completely wrong to say that every small item builds into a needed orb and that there aren't any orbs that are harder to get.

Im lost in this game. Wtf is with the odd currency

"currency" is probably the wrong word, although the devs use it.

PoE is using a barter economy, not currency. It's a realistic system - given the mess that Wraeclast is in, which person or group would have sufficient power and authority to issue currency? Currency is only tokens. Its sole value is that people agree to pretend that it has value. That requires stability and trust in the issuer of the tokens.

The barter economy of PoE is more realistic for the circumstances - people exchange items of value directly.

Vendors in the game have some fixed exchange rates for some items, which isn't realistic (there's no sign of any kind of merchant's guild which could impose fixed exchange rates) but which is better for game balance. This is sometimes called the main progression, as you can trade items upwards at fixed rates (e.g. you can buy 4 jeweller's orbs for 8 orbs of alteration, then buy an orb of fusing with the 4 jeweller's orbs).

There are some details here, including the main progression at the bottom:

Yes it is wrong, but to make a post about it is a bit anal by any ones standards lol.

The orbs are easy to get as i found out yesterday grinding an resetting the areas, out of a 2 hour grinding session i ended up with 2 gem gutters all from the same map.

Not in the same run thou i killed every one jumped back to camp then reset the area an went back in.

Sit back an chill it's a game!

For those that don't know how to rest an area- leave the area,go back to the entrance what for the location to pop then press CTRL + LMB an a window should pop (if not your doing it wrong) just click new.
