Yeeeaaaah. Full clears completed. Had to kill Oak to finish up the Wetlands. Knew I should've spent 20-30 minutes finishing levelling though before I fought Vaal. Killed me 3 or 4 times and lost around half a level of exp. Git one shot me with his laser thanks to my bad lightning res.

Halfway through act 3 now. Piety was an absolute nightmare in the Crematorium. Luckily she got impatient and started trying to chase me around and Puncture did its work.

Ding! my first lvl 100 (and my last one) - the grind past lvl 95 is just ridicules, last couple of levels are so damn slow. But it had to be done as this is my favorite game ever.

Now taking a well deserved break and also waiting for next the league to start, this time I want to play solo most of the time and get a good dps char. Not bothered If I will not make it past lvl 90 even.

24 days and 15h played to get to lvl 100 in the last almost 3 months. I think this says it all how much of a grind this game really is (and how much my social life sucks).

I play almost entirely self-found (account wide self found that is), with the only exception being I will take freebies. I have no illusions about ever reaching lvl 100. I've never even used the map device! (my arc shadow is really fun, and got into merciless at the weekend... so I rolled a new character to try making a totem user. Damn this dilettantism!)

Elemental Buzzsaw (ST) with Acrobatics and Phase Acrobatics. Very safe but low dps compared to crit builds.

Some guy was giving away some uniques in global yesterday. Apparently I earned myself the Tabula Rasa when I told him I'd use it to pretend to be a wizard

I would've preferred the Carcass Jack but hey ho, I can keep hold of it till I make a crit character.

doesnt need to be a crit character. it's great for any toon.

Yeah but you lose a fair amount of defensive capability from it and you kinda get 'use to' having a 6l available. I have enough problems as it is upgrading my 4l boots (I'm getting to the stage where I might start using my currency though). Dropping links could really mess me up if I suddenly lose a chunk of power on a standard build.

Yeah I've been using a tabula on my CoC ST, but you can use it on almost anything. Just need to balance using 6 gems with the mana cost of them really, gets high at low level.

Its really not hard to 4L anymore with the new crafting NPC, maybe look into it a bit? Around 4 jewellers and 4 Fusings for a 4L. And if you are a picking up every 6s you find, you'll get a fair amount of jewellers anyway.

Oh yeah forgot about that. I don't have Vorici in my hideout atm though. PoE wiki has it at 10 jewellers and 5 fusings to create 4 sockets then 4 linked.

4-link is not a problem anymore as tune said. they buffed the chance a long time ago. losing the defensive capabilities shouldn't be a problem! what are you losing? resists, life, evasion/armor? all can be solved in different ways.
like my current character who is using a 2h staff. when i upgraded i lost my legacy archon kite shield (24 all res implicit). but i just had to jiggle around other things to get max resists again. also when you play a ranged character you can actively dodge/evade things rather than hoping the hit roll gets evaded.

You only need his crafting bench, not virici himself, and to get his crafting bench you just need to invite him to your hideout and speak to him I believe, then he can leave and never come back if you like. I have all 8 of them with only 2 in my hideout. 10 jewellers is a bit more than I expected though, I'd probably take my chances and try to 4L myself with that.

Just a small word of warning - if you dismiss a master from your hideout you will lose all the rep you have gained for that level with them, so I only dismiss one after I have just levelled them.

Why in the world did I wait until now to make these changes...

Been using Grace only while I levelled a Hatred and Reduced Mana gem on my second weapon set. Decided that even though I'm now level 68 I may as well just spend the jewellers/fusing and 4link my Goldrim.

Swapped the Grace for the Hatred and bought a Herald of Ash and Herald of Ice. Also swapped the Faster Projectiles on my Barrage to Faster Attacks. Near enough doubled my dps at the cost of a bit of evasion. Cleared a few maps yetserday, gone from taking a bit of time with mobs to completely shredding them with Split Arrow and destroying single targets with Barrage.

Considering buying a Lioneyes now. Deaths Harp could really use an upgrade, the extra projectile isn't quite as powerful when you're using Barrage and Split Arrow.

Anyone try the one week race?

I reached a measly level 45 over 2 or 3 sessions (hard to find the time these days). Act 3 merciless.

Puts me in the running for a free armour set or two (cosmetic only) if I'm INSANELY lucky, given how many players reached that level or higher.

I did it as an EK shadow, which seemed like a good idea before I realised that I needed Herald of Ash, Added Fire and Hatred gems... none of which Shadow gets as rewards!

Picked up an unusually high number of uniques (6 or 7 I think) of which most are naturfally trashy (my 5th Enzymote Peak... yeah), but included both Blackgleam and Broadstroke, meaning I have all the unique quivers except any of the good ones.

I think I may try a new build next 3 month leagues - probably a ranger in hardcore. Might go punture/tornado shot now it's no longer FOTM. I assume most serious builders will be trying to break the new reactive melee skills somehow.

I've not really bothered with the race season this time round. I'm not really around often enough atm.

I've swapped to try out a Flameblast Templar atm. Not sure how thats going to go down with the changes to that side of the tree. Definitely hits the block nodes hard I know that much (and the build I was looking at seemed to be very block focused so not sure if that is going to be viable any more). No idea what I'm gonna do for the new league though.

Playing a tornado shot ranger on Torment atm. Only level 46 but its going pretty well. Plan to make a Shockwave Totem on bloodlines in a week or so.
