Path of Exile(diablo clone)

Yeah, spent more on this game (money wise) than I care to admit, but I feel none of it has gone to waste as GGG always churn out great content so I'm happy to keep throwing money at them to do so.

As for this league, going for something a bit different and never really had an totem build as a mapper so looking there, probably RF. Debating a CI build also as I've never used that much either. So much choice with the new sub-classes, especially the Scion.

I've enjoyed this new update. Played 12 hours since friday. Just trying to stick with the OS + spark since it's so easy to lvl with.

Hadnt played in ages, tried lab tonight, got to the 2nd izaro phase & got pretty much one shotted, wasnt going to clear all that again tonight, so went & facerolled dom, think lab needs a bit of tweaking

It is designed so that if you fail to do something on the first phase then it will subsequently make the next two phases harder, however you'll be rewarded more at the end.

Plus due to how ggg have done this, you can't just go read a guide on the internet because the layout and boss phases in the lab changes every 24 hours.

I got half way through on my first try and just like you got practically 1 shot on the second phase but I knew that was likely to happen because of my failures with the first phase. Still I really enjoyed this, it is imo the type of content poe needs more of.

I just can't get into this, keep giving it a go but I just don't like the feel to it, the UI, map and clunky feel to most builds just doesn't do it for me.

Shame because if I stuck it out I'm sure I'd enjoy the depth and some of the end game builds.

what clunky feel? I hear a lot of people say this, but I don't get it. Unless people mean when they play for the first 10 levels.

Cleared lab today on my 3rd attempt, was massively outlevelled & geared for it, still took 2 hours, ascendancy class was definitely worth it tho, gave me around a 20% actual dps boost.

I get it - at the start, you have a relatively low move speed, weapon swings seem to take a while, can't cast while moving and your cast speed is low etc. Particularly if one tries (as most new players do) to kill every mob in every level, it feels horribly clunky to start with.

I think it helps a huge amount when you are a bit more familiar and realise you can bypass a lot of content and/or round up groups to kill them off. Plus, a pair of move speed boots is a wonderful thing.

I played this ages ago but never "finished" it.

Started again with a ranger but I dont understand the "leagues", does it matter which one I pick? I picked the standard one as it has all my cache items in it.

Even at higher levels the game feels clunky compared to Diablo3. Both games certainly have their pros and cons.
I patched PoE up to date and played for a bit to see whether my old build worked and found that even with the improved network code it still didn't quite feel right sometimes, played for maybe an hour. Fired up Diablo3 and started a new character in that for comparison and played 10 hours of it over the weekend.

I really like the gem mechanics and skill tree in PoE allowing hybrid builds but the core gameplay has never felt as fun as Diablo.

servers have been up and down all weekend. netcode/desyncing is not the issue anymore, it's more the fps drops right now. As far as i'm aware they are working on it at the moment though, so hopefully things will improve :)
saying that this weekend certainly didn't give a good impression on new/returning players. :(

p.s. new trade system is awesome. had multiple times where I list something port into my zone and get a tell for buying x that I listed just 10seconds ago :)

Must admit the fps has been a killer this weekend. I've just been doing the trials preparing for the labyrinth. Still love my tank build, can just stand still and let most things shocked on my shield. :)

First character down!
Got to 73 on my Earthquake duellist, had just ascended it to Champion too for the perma-fortify buff. Promptly went into a map and opened a box, hit earthquake without thinking and the box was full of the beasts that explode into spikes when they die....RIP.

Just re-rolled last night and up to 33 on my new witch blade vortex character, lets see how long this one lasts :D

Finished Labrynth on normal mode, being honest I wasn't impressed.

I didn't find it remotely challenging (though I would imagine higher difficulty levels will rectify that) and the fact you need to complete it all in one run I actually found a bit tedious and by the end I had stopped exploring and was just running through to get out the place. Might be my build but the last boss was simple as well, wasn't even remotely challenging.

The ascendancy stuff seems interesting I've went Jugg but a whole huge patch/update to introduce this feels a little underwhelming. I'll finish my cruel play through and see if I can keep my interest going beyond this.

Normal and Cruel are just a warm-up to be honest, especially cruel since you've already got a decent amount of gear/skill points and the damage doesn't go up too much, can't remember the last time I died in either difficulty. Merciless is where the challenge starts in my opinion, the mobs start getting nasty, especially once you start mapping with the added mods on. Haven't tried merciless labyrinth since I play on HC and got the most needed skill points just from Normal/Cruel (it was the perma-fortify buff on my dead earthquake char) - aka. I was a pussy

Just got to Act2 Cruel on my new witch char, it feels a bit squishy at the moment but part of that is down to using Tabula and not getting any life/resists from a chest piece. It was a bro-deal though from Cadiro for 89 coins so couldn't pass it up :p

^+1

Anyone playing this season? I currently have a lvl 68 Ice shatter inquisitor and a 46 earthquake juggernaut (or will be when I get Lab done)

Enjoying it, but I am still being plagued by nvidia black screen every so often. Thought I had found a solution and played solid for 3 days with no crashes. Then yesterday, crashed a few times in quick succession :(
