PATIENCE - IF PLANNING TO BUY A 50 SERIES..........

It's a complete joke isn't it

Nothing against OCUK, people need to stop sniffing Nvidia's backside.

AMD make perfectly good graphics cards.
When you get killed by someone in PUBG in Feb, there’ll be a little part of you in the back of your head that says “Damn I wonder if that guy managed to get a 5090 to get the edge on me there.”

500fps for that 3ms frame time will make all the difference. :D

Never heard of this fable..
Looking back at my order email now, I think one of the main issues was I used amazon payments. So the order went through, but maybe stock was allocated in the sequence that payments were processed, not the timeframe in which they were entered into the system.

May as well just do the lottery, probably more chance of winning big than getting a 5090 and then you can easily a scalper their crazy price :p

@Gibbo I've reached out a few times and via CS (Which havent confirmed with any certainty) with regards to what is meant by UK in the pre order limitations.

Does it include Channel Islands, or other Crown Dependencies in Britain etc?

I really dont want to waste time trying if we are excluded from being able to order. If its a no that's fine, albeit disappointing, and I can focus my efforts elsewhere!

Sitting it out seems like a fine option, except the possibility the prices will shoot up past the launch RRPs due to shortages like we've seen with the 9800X3D (GBP vs USD exchange my buttocks).

The cynic in me sees this as a brilliant reverse psychology card played by Gibbo. Could ocuk really have a large amount 50 series incoming but are playing the scarcity card to hype up the fomo in everyone, and the prices...

Yeah don't be flooding the used market with your 4090's and 4080's just yet kids, thus taking potential 50 series buyers from us. Brilliant!

Artificial scarcity to drive up prices when there's no competition? Surely not......
It seems like plain old incompetence this time. I read a report that said Nvidia failed to provide the final bios in time to ship the GPUs for the launch date. Combined with launching at the start of Spring Festival which is a holiday period in China and Taiwan, so things will move slower anyway.

ocuk have sold over 5000 9800x3d's wow for a cpu that realsed in november thats not bad! Thankyou for the update, i was going to wait untill i could definetely get a gpu before buying everything else in my new system expecting to wait weeks, looks like its best the other way round and gpu may be a good wait into the year

Hi there

So in just over a weeks time you will be able to order a 50 series GPU.
I can tell you now:
5090 - Mega tight (single digits at present, maybe double for launch)
5080 - Very tight (few hundred)

We are expecting greater demand than 40 series, but with the launch just prior to CNY and lots of other rumours circulating initial waves of supply are poor and will probably take some time to build up. So the stock we have will be made available from the launch via the webshop but I know what we have is likely to last only seconds, minutes at most.

We will also be trying to limit how many pre-orders we take, we will take some pre-orders but not thousands as we want to ensure customers get realistic expectations and are not waiting months.

So in short your going to need to be extremely patient, I feel and keep a watchful eye on all resellers and NVIDIA's own shop for stock drops and buying what you can find as there is a huge amount of pent up demand this round especially with thousands of people buying 9800X3D's and planning upgrades around that CPU, OcUK alone has sold and shipped 5000+ 9800X3D's already.

My advice is if your building a new rig, do not sell your current GPU until you have the replacement in your hands and if you don't have a GPU yet, then maybe consider buying something like an RTX 3050/3060/4060 to get you up and running at least.

To put it simply patience and expectations need to be realistic if the UK has say 10,000 cards and 500,000 people want one, well it is going to take time so plan ahead and also act like adults.

I shall try and keep these forums updated with stock drops with heads up on the site etc.

Do not call Sales or Customer service for any info or trying to place orders, it shall be strictly via website only and all information will be posted on forums and on product display pages for the products as and when we have it. :)

As always good luck for next week, but plan ahead now for potentially not been able to get a card just yet, so be sure to have a GPU to keep you going until you have your new one in hand. :)

Also remember our check out guide for fastest checkout process, debit/credit card, DPD next day. DO NOT USE Paypal, Amazon or Finance:
To be honest, and I can't speak for everyone but I would rather get a pre order in and wait 10 months than play the stress game of checking sites and stock levels. Please reconsider this. I would be 100% happy to wait if it means I can get a pre order in and forget about it.
